Sidi Discovery Rain Boots

Sidi, continuously researching new technological solutions to enhance rider safety, is proud to present the Discovery Rain boot. With Sidi’s great style, feel, support and quality there are no finer performance off road boots in the world.

Non-Bootie Designs: Sidi boots do not incorporate inner booties into their design, and for good reason. Booties make the design larger and cumbersome; add to the boot’s thickness, which interferes with shifting, plus the inner booties retain body heat affecting the rider’s performance and comfort.

Buckles: Sidi’s exclusive cam-lock buckle system is acknowledged as the finest system on the planet. It must be as most of Sidi’s competitors have attempted to copy various aspects of it. The cam-lock buckle system incorporates a strap memory retention system. Adjust the straps once and they will be at the same position for every ride after that! No more readjusting.

Heat Shields: Each Sidi boot is equipped with an anti-heat undressed leather protection panel at the same height of most motorcycle’s exhaust heat shields.

Replaceable Parts: Every bolt on component of each Sidi off road boot is available separately.

Composite Insole: A cushioned liner is provided that can be removed if the rider desires a more roomy fit. Sidi does not use steel shanks riveted to its insole like most manufactures, details such as this enable Sidi boots to enjoy a multi year service life versus the competitors multi month lifespan as over time, a steel shank can deteriorate, rust and fracture exposing the rider to injury.

Lining: Cambrelle is a lining that, due to its particular polyimide structure, guarantees a rapid drying rate after the boot gets wet or sweaty. This prevents the onset of mold forming which extends the boots lifespan dramatically. The Teflon treated mesh panels in the rear calf area of the boot allow humidity to escape while the boot is in use.

Very Good

I have used this boot about 4 years now. They have been excellent in comfort and protection. I ride dual sport and off road and can say that wading into creeks or mud holes, water never has penitrated the boot. They are also quite easy to walk in due their good fit and softness. The only problems other than general wear, has been the toe caps. I gave up on keeping them on the boot and as a result I have to reglue the toes pretty often because they will start to separate . The other thing is the ATV type sole will sometimes stick in the off road foot pegs which can delay braking sometimes. I will soon buy another pair of these boots. They meet my needs very well.

Sidi Discovery rain

Size 11.5 D seems correct. Fit and finish is outstanding. Short break in period. Tested them out in water. No leaks. I do wish they were just a bit higher for a little more protection. I use them for riding my GS, 80-20 road/dirt. If you're on a tall bike and stop on your toes, remove the steel toe guards. Very slick when that's all between you and wet blacktop.

Excellent customer service

I bought these so my feet would stay dry and they do a great job. The sole started to fall apart after a few rides because they are softer for better grip on the pegs so I contacted SIDI and they said they would fix it under warranty. They put motocross soles on them which is better suited for my riding due to a harder rubber compound and it didn't cost me a penny. I'll buy more SIDI products with confidence because they back their product.

Wanted to love them... bad batch?

I wanted to love these boots; but right away my feet were soaked in the rain or over small/medium puddles (other friends with same boots were dry) not fun in January! M/S helped navigate the warranty. Got my refund. Size seems to run about 1/2 a size large. General fit is comfortable; virtually no break in required. I ended up with the Gaerne Oiled Balance which I can highly recommend as an alternative.

Great Boot

After reading the reviews on off road boots I selected the Sidi Discovery. The sizes run large, I ordered a pair of 12.5 initially and sent them back for a pair of 11.5. The boot is very well constructed and offers exceptional support. I wanted a boot to withstand all weather conditions but haven't had an opportunity yet to ride with them in wet conditions. I did have to change my shifting technique slightly with these boots, since they are more robust than the touring boots I have been wearing.

Great for Winter riding

I got these to have a better rain and cold weather option. Spent 40 min on the ride to work on a 7 degree morning with nothing but a pair of wool socks on inside the boot and it never got uncomfortable during the whole trip. In the pouring rain they do their job. My second Pair of SIDI boots now I'm covered thru the seasons. Sure they are expensive but they are for a reason.

Great Boot

Sidi makes consistently outstanding boots. Materials and construction were top notch and this boot would have been very comfortable and lasted for years. They seemed slightly large, but a single thin insole would have fixed that. I loved the Discovery but can't rate durability because I ultimately returned them in favor of a taller, more protective off-road boot.

Great Boots from the box.

Finished riding 3 weeks in Ecuador and Bolivia. Temperatures from 35 to 90 degrees, plus heavy rain almost every day. Feet were kept dry even in downpours and crossing streams. Thin socks kept my feet cool on the coasts and thick warm socks kept my feet warm in the mountains. Easy break-in period around the house for a couple of days only. No complaints, only accolades. I am now a Sidi believer.

Great boots, a little fussy

These boots are so sturdy you could back the car over them and damage the car. Finish, fit are perfect, sole grips like racing tires. The only complaints are (a) the steel cap over the toe makes it slippery. They're easy to remove and don't leave holes. The straps are a bit fussy. But if you put your thumb over the slot where the straps enter the boot and press down and it locks in place. That said, if you want to boot for wet, cold riding I doubt you'll do any better than these.

Nice boots. Comfortable on the pegs. The buckle system is a little wonky but once you get them dialed in they work. Toe protection is very good. Not for motocross but awesome for dual sport. Haven't got them wet except for some stream crossings, but they are not too hot even in the 90s.

Makes me still down in my toes!

Hard to beat a time tested and proven name. Dang these fit like a firm glove the very first time I put them on out of the box.

Great boots.

Could go for a 4th buckle, but that's about it. Not really a big deal at all. Nothing to complain about these boots at all. Kept my feet nice and dry throughout the whole PM race at the 2011 Snowshoe GNCC, aside from the sweat, but that's gonna be any riding boot. I will buy again for sure.

These boots fit perfect, right to the size 11. Great protection, made well, just needed to waterproof the seams on the stitching. Sidi products are the best.

Worth the $

I ride winters here and these boots were the final piece of the puzzle. Quick to put on/off (I change at work) and comfortable in 13 degree weather (thick socks of course). I wear a 10.5 in everything else, but had to get a EUR 44 in these.
