What I was hoping for

These pipes were installed by the dealer before I bought the bike (2006 Honda Shadow VLX 600 Deluxe) as it was bought on trade with only straight headers. I couldn't be happier with the sound. I was originally told that they were V&H, and I believed it until I did more research. Gonna try taking the baffles out tomorrow and see how it sounds that way. The beauty of that is that I can put them right back in if I don't completely love it. Cobra from here on, for me. They look and sound great.

Couldn't wait to take them off

They fit fine, mounted up easy, and looked great. But that's where the good aspects end, they're too loud and tinny sounding, I had to get the quiet baffles to make my bike rideable without ear plugs. Then I eventually took the pipes off my bike when the rear braket holing the pipes at the transmission BROKE in half in less than a year of riding, V&H didnt care when I called for replacement either. So I went with a nice 2-1 pipe, and finally realized the great sound and power these pipes lack.

Vance & Hines slashed staggered on my Boulevard C50

I received my V&H pipes fast and was so glad to have purchased them from Motorcycle Superstore, I installed them as per instructions but found a discrepancy on the rear plate gap between the bike's plate and V&H plate of 5mm so I packed the gap with washers and was ok, please bare in mind when you fit the pipes make sure there is no stresses from the headers to the rear attachment plate, this is what would have resulted if I fitted it straight from the package, also I recommend if you have sensors you must fit them back though my set of V&H did not have the sensors provision, I drilled 9.5mm hole and tapped a 12mm 1.2pitch and fitted the sensor, I did not want to cut wires or mark around with the electronics. I finally went for a long ride and it was awesome, if a motorcycle supposed to sound like this, these are the pipes for you!!! have fun
