It was then reengineered in 2007 as the KTM Adventure 990, complete with the proven LC8 999 cc power plant. The max power figure remains the same as the old 950, but the torque is increased over the whole range for more usable power. Improvements include increased displacement, massive torque and minimal weight, along with EFI and ABS. The KTM Adventure R option has a more extreme chassis, taller seat height, and a Dakar design that comes directly from rally sport. Known for its agility and exceptional comfort on long trips, the KTM Adventure is rated world wide as the touring machine of choice for more experienced riders.
