VEGA ALTURA SLAYER HELMET

WOW, what an great looking helmet and price. I was surprised though that the helmet was a little tighter than expected. My old helmet is a Shoei RF200 Large and is not as tight as the Vega XL. Still fits great though, love the Vega helmet! Vents are great, would like to see a better accommodation for the installation of a quick release. After the install of the Quick Release, there is too much chin strap left, would be nice it the fastener was adjustable, say attached to an elastic band that could slide. Definitely not knocking the helmet, more of a suggestion

Crash Tested...

I bought this helmet last spring, and loved it! Very comfortable, appealing, and convenient with the drop down. It did seem a bit noisy, but nothing too bad.

Insight on the Vega Insight

Nice helmet. Mainly purchased based on interior flip down sun shield and price. Looks nice. Biggest problem is it is NOISY! Just came back after wearing another helmet at about the same price point and it was way quieter. Also the distance from your mouth to the chin guard is close making mounting of intercom mic difficult.

Very tight fit

Worst thing is its a super-tight fight- beyond that which I would expect. Went with a large, had to return and trade up to an XL (23inch head) and its still extra tight. I don't know where they think there's an extra liner. The molding on the modular part broke in two places after a year (roughly 2000 miles). Noisy and almost no airflow except when you don't want it - first few minutes of every ride, the visor's open. But I do like the helmet (I have hi vis color) for its look.
