Modifications at that time included a reengineered chassis, a redistribution of weight and new rider ergonomics which created a lighter, more nimble feel to the Yamaha FZ1. Based on the R1 powerplant, the Yamaha FZ1 boasts an impressive 129.3 hp at 11,500 rpm. In spite of the massive amount of horsepower at hand, the throttle response is seamless and the power delivery is extremely smooth.
