This exhaust, with a PCV, gave the bike a very noticeable gain in horsepower and torque across the powerband. In my opinion, this is the best exhaust that money can buy. The only negative thing about this product is that it's very expensive. But you definitely get what you pay for. If you have the money, I highly recommend it. And of course Motorcycle Superstore has great customer service, fast shipping, and price matched.

The stock pipes look great but miss the note you are looking for. the Akrapovic gives it some extra power but can't say how much. It looks better and sounds great.

Fitment, installation, and instructions were absolutely amazing! This system fits to the 'T' on my R6. The sound is a lot deeper than stock, and after 1000 miles on the system, the sound keeps getting better as it breaks in. Doesn't sound like a 600 anymore! The most impressive feature is the performance gains. Bottom end is really impressive now with the heavy and bulky stock system gone. Buy this system, you won't be disappointed.

I bought this exhaust for my 09 GSXR-1000 because I liked the GP look. It retains the stock catalytic converter so remapping issues aren't a huge problem. I do use a Power Commander with it, but they do not make a map for this exhaust. As for sound, for some people it might be a bit loud, I personally love it, there is a distinctive growl. I run it without the inserts, so I guess you could make it quieter. Overall the fitment and build quality is what you expect from Akrapovic, amazing. Looks are slick, weight savings are huge. But you definitely buy this exhaust for looks and sound as opposed to gains. Not saying there are no gains, but because most slip-ons you get on the market eliminate the cat, they would be more appropriate for hp gains. If you want a loud growly bike, with slick looks and good lines to clean up the back-end get these. I highly recommend them. Raw titanium looks swweeet too.
