Honest Review

I'll start off by saying that Bell makes a great helmet. I received my helmet a few weeks ago and so far I like ALMOST everything about it. I'll start off with what I liked. I like the anti-fog visor. It works perfectly. I like the fit. It's very comfortable. I like the look. I get compliments on it from everyone. I like the magnetic strap keeper. It's handy. I like that it feels expensive on my head and in my hands. What I didn't like. The ventilation could be better. It's not bad but it was less than I was expecting. My other gripe. The buttons for the vents are small. They work well but it's going to take some practice to figure out where they're at. That's it. Overall I like the helmet. It looks awesome with the Dark Smoke shield I added. I just have a feeling that it will be used more this fall than this summer.

A Shining Star

Picked up my red/black Star as soon as it became available. After cross shopping the Shoei RF-1200 and GT-Air and Arai Vector2 and Defiant I decided on this and I'm very happy. I'm upgrading from a Scorpion EXO400. First thing, the graphics are beautiful and the gloss finish is gorgeous. The helmet is also crazy light and this isn't even carbon fiber. The shield is amazingly clear; I can't see any imperfections. The field of view is fantastic; the little dip makes a difference. When riding this helmet is so aerodynamic. It's very stable and so much quieter than my exo400 in terms of wind noise. Turning for head checks doesn't grab, though you'll hear the wind. Inside of the helmet is very plush; it's a great place to be. Fit is intermediate oval; fits me just right. And as always service from MSS was fantastic; crazy fast shipping and great prices!

Race inspired street helmet

This is a nice helmet but I do have a few qualms with it. Air venting is nice but it vents best in the 3/4 or tuck position. At high speeds you do not feel active air moving over your head instead it works more to remove the heat. At 85 degrees going 35mph the helmet is very cool so long as you are in the 3/4. The helmet fits tight. It's a race fit. Even though the fit is very snug it is comfortable to wear. No visor indents. It's open or closed with nothing in between. It's large. This helmet in a medium is the same size as the Vortex which people complain is a large helmet. All in all this helmet would be great for the occasional track user or aggressive street rider. I would not suggest it for commuting.
