Product Information

Dainese Racing D1 Perforated Leather Jacket

It may not be Dainese’s most high end jacket but trust us, the Racing D1 Perforated is no joke whether you’re on the track or simply riding the street. Utilizing flexible S1 fabric and perforated tutu cowhide, the construction both moves and flows air for an extremely comfortable fit whether sitting upright or in the tucked-in position. Protective features are along the same lines as Dainese’s race suit and besides internal CE spec armor you get aluminum shoulder sliders and space for the G1 or G2 back protectors. The Racing D1 is naturally suited for connection with one of Dainese’s many leather pants so if you choose you can create an effective track worthy setup.

Cost Benefit

Feels solid and looks great

The jacket is solid. The entire front is perforated except for the area that surrounds the logo across the chest. There is probably 1 inch of non-perf leather around the logo. It is not a problem and the jacket is nice and cool. I am 5'9" tall and weigh 186lb, with a 43" chest. I am not muscular, and have a 36" pant size. I ordered the 54 euro and it is just a tad big. I think that if I put in a full back protector then it will fit like a race suit. There are buttons to adjust the waist, and I could adjust it to the lowest. However, I will not because it causes the belly to wrinkle and is too baggy. The size I chose is by no means loose. It fits without the use of the stretch panels. I would have preferred a smaller fit with slight use of the stretch panels so that it fits perfectly snug. I will keep the jacket because it is not a big enough difference for me to return, but I will definitely get back protection and maybe chest protection so that it fits perfectly. If you are about the same size as me then go with the size 52. I am sure that it would accommodate the back protection as well. If you are my height then the regular is perfect. I would not get the short version. I wish it had stretch panels at the back of the neck for comfort, but it is no big deal.
