Terra Trek 4 First Impressions

I have been very excited to try this jacket out due to the drop in temperature and the utility the jacket seemed to offer. I am overall relatively pleased, but I cant help but feel disappointed at the same time... Pros: -Pockets...all of the pockets... -[Grey] Is much more visible than my previous black jackets, and with the reflective accenting I can't help but feel a bit more prominent on the road. -Size and fit. I'm usually a medium, (5'10' 160lbs, 31x32) and the fit is certainly ideal. Adjustable straps and cinches also make the jacket easy to form to your person. -Everything is sturdy and well built, I have yet to try this one in the rain (it never rains in AZ), but it certainly does well at night against the cold wind. Cons: -It does really well against the cold wind...which is bad because we recently had a 70 degree day, and with all vents and exhaust ports open I experienced a severe lack of airflow. No doubt this was because the bike I was riding had a windshield, but I couldn't help but feel like a "4 season" jacket should perform better than it did. Obviously this is subjective, but I'm no stranger to heat. 120 degree days are common in summertime and this jacket proved it is certainly not for use in temperatures exceeding 80 degrees. -Of all the jackets I've purchased, this presented the most pitiful excuse for spinal protection I've seen to date. They would have been better off sliding a poorly cut bit of cardboard in the back of the jacket. Obviously the point is to get you to buy the d30 or whatever Fly's upgrade is, but they could have at least pretended to try. Overall, it's a promising jacket, but the jacket is not as advanced as I had previously anticipated.

Nice jacket

Wish the high viz colors stayed clean longer but they are bright and will hopefully be SEEN by drivers who seem to have a problem seeing bikers.

Terra Trek 4 Jacket

Well made, heavy and keeps the wind and cold out, which is why I bought it. Nice deep pockets that close with Velcro. It does everything I wanted.

Great All Around Jacket

I purchased this jacket for my cold commutes to work in the morning on my 07 cbr600rr(not much of a wind break on this bike) This Jacket is Very Warm, I have rode on a 38 degree morning with only a t shirt and long sleeve, after 15 minutes of 75mph riding i finally started to feel that it was cold outside but it was still very bearable, with a better base layer this jacket will be great! With the liner out and vents open its pretty comfortable at 75 degrees, and the shoulder vents work great as they open up at highway speeds like mini intakes! the only con i have is that that you can feel drag from the shoulder vents more so when closed, but not a huge deal, just have to get used to it. Great Jacket,I Highly recommend It if you want a warm non-leather jacket
