Roland Sands Design Cassidy Textile Jacket

Oh look, it’s the RSD City jacket. Hmm, wait a minute, that’s definitely not leather. Meet the RSD Cassidy, a cotton canvas jacket that while looking conspicuously a lot like the City is in fact an animal all to its own. Cut in the now standard RSD performance fit, the Cassidy looks leather but uses its canvas composition to create a lighter, more flexible feel. Armor pockets are included so you can upgrade if you choose and if you happen to look closely, the Cassidy isn’t entirely cotton canvas. Leather accents can be found around the shoulders, collar and main zipper. Just a little more character to add to the mix.
  • Water repellant / breathable heavy canvas cotton
  • Performance riding fit with rotated, pre-curved sleeves, slight dropped back length, and relaxed collar opening
  • Back flex gussets in leather trim
  • Standard collar with snap down feature and leather trim
  • Zip close pockets
  • Zip close cuffs
  • Satin poly lining with custom RSD repeat “numbers” heat emboss
  • Soft lined electronics security pocket
  • Stretch mesh cargo stuff pockets
  • Zip close interior chest pocket
  • Armor ready shoulder, elbow and back protector pockets

Looks good, but slim fit

It looks good but not generous fit, right pocket has a hole where stitching came undone. Only wore it a few times. Overall, it's ok. Definite let not worth original price.

Decent jacket, great sale price.

Quality of RSD jackets are always nice. The collar is a little large and I think it looks a bit Goofy.... it's a little loose around the waist I'm 6'2 205. Overall happy with my purchase. Motorcycle Superstore ships fast and is easy to deal with.

Roland Sands Jackrt

I was looking for a jacket that I could wear to work that didn't look like a motorcycle jacket and I found it. I'm glad that I got a deal on the jacket because I had to buy armor for it. I bought Icon D30 armor and, except for the back piece, they fit perfectly. I had to trim the back piece to get it to fit. I really like to classic look of the jacket and it fits well. I am 5'9," 175# and the size large fits me nicely. The Tobacco brown color with brown leather accents is really attractive and it is very nicely made. The only thing that I would like to see added to the jacket would be some front zippered vents, as I live in Southern California and more airflow would be a welcome feature. However, this is still a really nice jacket.

Really, really nice

I wasn't in the market for a new jacket but could not pass up the closeout pricing. Plus I always wanted a Roland Sands jacket. I love this jacket. The quality is amazing which explains why Roland Sands usually cost so much. Its a great cruiser style jacket along with a great casual wear jacket. I haven't worn on the bike yet as it's winter here in NY. It is definitely not the best jacket for crash protection. It would be great on those "just starting to get cool" rides. Size wise, I am 6'4" about 240lbs with a 36" waist. The 2XL jacket fits like it was tailored for me.

Favorite Casual Jacket

I'm a fan of the Roland Sands jackets, but too often they're out of my price range. I caught the Barfly on sale this summer and like it a lot, but the stomach cut is not very flattering and it spends a lot of time on the hanger. Thought I would give another RSD jacket a shot and purchased this Cassidy. It has a utilitarian styling and a much better fit on my body. I've been wearing it in 55-70 degree weather in the winter midday sun and the jacket does a nice job of keeping me warm. This isn't a winter jacket an prolonged riding in temperatures below 55 degrees would not be recommended. Conversely, in the warmer months, I don't see wearing this jacket when it gets hotter than 80 degrees outside. I've put in shoulder and elbow pads (Icon D30) and have purchased a pack protector as well (have to order the RSD back protector - Icon won't fit in the space provided.) Do with that the cut of the jacket was about 1.5" longer down the waist. As it is, it comes about to the middle of my belt buckle. Not an issue when riding, but when standing around with an untucked t-shirt, I can look a bit sloppy. Overall, I'm very happy with this jacket. At the price purchased, I think it's a steal.

BAM-4000

Really stoked to get this. Been using it as a kick around jacket. The material really attracts lint, hair & dust. I like the texture, but it needs constant lint roller. Thinking about buying the other color.

VERY NICE RIDING JACKET

I'm 5'6", 175 lb., and ordered the black in Med., and a brown in Large, the med. was too tight for me in the arms /shoulders, but the large was just right ( sent the black med. back, kept the large in brown). It's real comfortable riding the Harley, and I've received compliments just wearing it casually too.

Nice jacket

Quality jacket at a great price (on sale). I'm 5'9 205 lbs and I ordered the XL but had to return it - the large fits perfect, even layered with a hoodie underneath. plan on ordering the brown one as well.

Great but...

The jacket worth its price, it looks good, it's deep black and the wind (and cold) does not go throught it. But, I'm tall and "fit" and I think it could have been more adjusted around the waist.
