Tear Off posts

The shield is great. I was not expecting to have the post for tear-offs but I can get used to them. This feature was not shown and is not part of the description. None-the-less I am putting the shield to some great use.

obstructed vision

I got the ac12 because of the wider opening, and expanded peripheral vision- the original was great, but the replacement visor have 2 large black knobs right where traffic would come from if you were going to be t-boned. It’s very distracting, and they serve no purpose that I can see. They are too small to use to raise/lower visor, and just the right size to always be catching your eye. I would not buy it again

Tear-off posts are horrible

This purchase now makes three new shields I've purchased for my helmets, each an attempt to buy a new shield that DOES NOT have the gawdawful posts on each side of the visible area. Can't seem to find one and not sure HJC even makes it anymore.

tinted shield

I have only used this shield a couple of times so far, the tint is nice but it doesn't seem to seal up as good as the original ,also I don't need the tear off knobs.

HJC Shield design change

These new shields now include some type of "post" near the outer corners. I have no idea what it's purpose is, but I do know it constantly interferes with my peripheral vision. I HATE THESE NEW POSTS!!! Go back to the original design HJC! IMHO-These shields should last longer than they do, especially considering the cost. The inside surface tends to "crack" with age. I believe it has something to do with the anti-fog treatment on the inside surface. I have to replace all my HJC shields about once per year for good visual integrity.

Great replacement / spare visor

install took 10 seconds and it really cuts down on the daytime glare (bought the 'smoke' shield). A little too dark for night riding but I try to keep that to a minimum.

Great shield

I purchased the anti-fog smoke and couldn't be happier. I haven't had any problems with fit or fog. I've used it in night conditions and it is not too dark that you can't see fine with the headlight on which it always is. Would definitely buy it again!

flat shield

Got the flat smoke shield with the tear off posts. The smoke is not too dark and it fits well. One thing to consider is that the tear off posts add wind noise. I am going to keep this shield for track days and buy a smoke shield without the posts for street riding.

WORTH IT

Medium smoke is perfect! Cuts enough sunlight during most daylight hours, unless you’re looking directly towards the sun and is light enough to use at night in the city. Never had it on an unlit road at night, but I "think" it would be okay. Not an absolutely perfect fit to the helmet but certainly good enough, unless you’re dealing with super cold temperature and some cold air will probably sneak through onto your face.

HJC Flat Shield

This shield fits my CL-SP helmet. The "flat shield" has tear-off posts built into it. The tear off strips should be a real bonus for keeping the shield clear of bugs. Not sure why the shield is called a "flat shield." It looks like any other shield apart from the tear-off posts. Fits and functions like the original shield that came with the helmet.

great night or day

I got the smoke visor and can use it day and night! Haven’t had any fog issues thus far. My stock hjc visor, though supposedly treated with anti-fog, got a little foggy now and then; this visor has been flawless so far! Awesome!

Nice Tinted Shield

This shield was pretty easy to install and really sets off the look of my helmet. The shield was a good investment to upgrade my helmet.

Good but....

The only complaint I have about the shield is that it doesn't quite close and seal tightly around the bottom. There's a slight gap when it's fully closed. Not enough to see when the helmet is on but you can when it's off.

Smoke

Very nice shield. Easy to put on and doesn't scratch to easy. I would recommend the smoke because you can still see even at night.
