Kenda K772 Parker Desert Terrain Rear Tire

Tires that can be raced, ridden on the pavement and last a long time are the ultimate dream of any off road/dual sport rider. The Kenda K772 Parker Desert Terrain rear tire comes pretty close to fulfilling this fantasy. Using a 6 ply construction, the Parker exhibits real carcass strength but still features a tread pattern that is predictable and confidence inspiring over a wide range of terrain (rock, sand, gravel). Best of all, the Parker DT is DOT approved which means you can connect trails with pavement making for giant ride loops.

Features:
  • Casing/compound designed to meet the demands of the toughest desert terrain
  • 6-ply rating offers 30% more cut resistance
  • Natural rubber compound for extended tread wear and reduced knob chunking
  • D.O.T. approved
  • Item # 71224
  • SKU #
  • Mfr. Part #

4 stars, but there is no rating for durability

Ran this tire for about 20-30 miles of woods and then hit the Desert 100. The D100 is the type of terrain this tire was designed for, and that is where I am most disappointed. About 55 miles the first day mixed desert and some road, and then about 25 miles into the race the next day a big slice in the sidewall. Not happy as Kenda advertises "designed to meet the demands of the toughest desert terrain 6-ply rating offers 30% more cut resistance" Prior to that tire was performing- well why 4 stars? Toughness and durability of the carcass is suspect....

Great in all conditions

I bought this tire for the LA-Barstow-Vegas rally for my WR250R. The tire shined in the varying terrain Deep silty sand, deep thick sand, rocky embedded granite trails, gravel, dry lake bed...you name it it handled it well. In the deepest sand I never worried about not having the drive to get through. IN tracked out rutted sand sections it did get a little squirrely side to side. Pavement traction was great too. This tire rolls very smooth with little noise. Only have about 500 miles on it with part of one knob chunked off but I had to spin the tire up on one part of the trail to get through. Still has the middle knob sipes. Haven't had it in wet terrain yet or on and adventure ride with a lot of pavement so will see how long they last. Braking on any surface is amazing. It feels like you're hitting the front brakes. This tire grips everything.

kenda parker desert terrain rear tire

500 miles and this tire still looks amazing .300 miles of rocky trails,100 gravel and dirt roads,100 miles of pavement.tire is stiff so i can run low pressures [10 front and 10 rear]looks like i will get a lot more mileage from this tire than all the dunlops and perellis that i have used on my ktm 690 r .it is a tire gobbler.tallest knobbies i ever saw and all my ridin buddies stay way back now from a long roost.best traction in sand i've ever had.
