Kenda K772 Parker Desert Terrain Front Tire

Tires that can be raced, ridden on the pavement and last a long time are the ultimate dream of any off road/dual sport rider. The Kenda K772 Parker Desert Terrain front tire comes pretty close to fulfilling this fantasy. Using a 6 ply construction, the Parker exhibits real carcass strength but still features a tread pattern that is predictable and confidence inspiring over a wide range of terrain (rock, sand, gravel). Best of all, the Parker DT is DOT approved which means you can connect trails with pavement making for giant ride loops.

Features:
  • Casing/compound designed to meet the demands of the toughest desert terrain
  • 6-ply rating offers 30% more cut resistance
  • Natural rubber compound for extended tread wear and reduced knob chunking
  • D.O.T. approved
  • Item # 71223
  • SKU #
  • Mfr. Part #

Parker DT Front

I'm on my third tire now, the tread lasts reasonably well however the carcass does not hold up under tough conditions. I ride a lot of rocky terrain and both of the previous tires had cracks show up in the side wall from impact damage that had not ever happened with other tires. The tire still worked fine it just always had be worrying about it being compromised. They really pack up in muddy conditions and act more like a slick than a knobby. Front tire holds very well on hard pack pretty much through the life of the tire, but when you combine it with the DT rear it seems they don't track well together at all. The bike had the feel the the back tire is always trying to get around the front...very slippery.

Nice tire

I ran tire on my WR250R in the LA-Barstow-Vegas rally and saw every type of terrain except for mud. The tire did well on everything except deep rutted tracked out sand. It seemed to plow a bit as it rides up on the rut. I had to ride faster than my comfort level to get it to track straight on some sections. It is an absolute dream on typical Sierra rocky terrain. Very confidence inspiring on all but the deepest tracked out sand. In less tracked out wide open sandy washes this tire paired with the matching rear tire it is amazingly stable. Bike felt like snowboarding deep powder. Pavement handling was sketchy the first 40 or so miles it started tracking true. 500 miles and there is just the hint of wear.

500 hundred miles so far..no noticabe wear yet.thought it was searching on pavement but it turned out to be steering bearings too tight.adjusted and feels totally true now.
