These are the safest way to tie down your motorcycle. Anyone that has done this enough without safety hooks has lost one or more and maybe even had a bike fall when the bumps compress your shocks. These are the answer. They are 1.5" and overkill from a strength perspective which will result in many years of service. Hightly recommended product if you have to trailer your bike.
almost 2 years and my straps are still hanging in there, I will be buying a pair pretty soon again.
With other straps I own, I had many issues, bike h=getting loose or not holding the bike under the rain or wet conditions.
Protapers are the safest and by far the best.
they're strong and they do work but they could be better. First, they could have use a ratchet style tightening system as opposed to the buckle grip system... but whatever, it still works. Secondly, there are no instructions... it turns out, you loop the colored strap through whatever you want the strap to grab onto and then loop it through the hook at the other end of the colored strap... that particular hook won't actually clasp to anything... it's just for the colored strap. But then take the hook at the other end of the black strap and use that to hold onto whatever will be the tie-down, such as a eyelet in the bed of your truck or similar strongly grounded support. Once you figure that part out though... it works pretty decently.
