I really love these boots. They are light-weight but warm. I have not used them in severe cold riding but based on my experience with them so far, I think they are going to be perfect. As other reviewers have commented, these boots do tend to be a bit small so I agree that you might need to order slightly larger than what you normally wear.
I've had these boots for two years now and they are absolutely bombproof. My riding is about 50/50 only because I have to ride some pavement to get to the dirt. They provide excellent support, they fit well and are comfortable. My feet haven't gotten wet in rain, mud holes or creek crossings plus they have held up extremely well and as a bonus they've quit squeaking.
Ive had these for 5 yrs and 40000 miles. Probably wear the sole out first but who cares , really dont hike in them . Fit great, dry . Been down once on pavement with them , only a bruised shin no broken bones. It is a good idea to have the buckles on hand as they do wear out I'm on my third set , though i was responsible for the damage on acouple .
These appeared to be well made and true to how they are described relative to their cost. I ride a V-Strom and my ankles are bent enough that the top of these boots dug into my calf. They were promptly returned, and for that I appreciate MCSS's great customer service.
I suppose if there is a fully upright riding position, or if you do lot of standing, these would be fine.
To me, these boots seem to be exactly what they are advertised as...a good boot for the money. The fit is not perfect for me, but it is good. Not a whole lot of bells and whistles, but the dual zippers are a plus. Toe protector pad is good for my foot and what I ride. I can't speak to the durability yet. I have only had these boots for a little over a month, but I use them every day and they seem to be holding up pretty well. Like I said, for the money, it's a pair of good boots.
