It is a bit heavy for this style of helmet but overall functions okay. It has a bit of a cheap plastic feel but is about what I was expecting for the price range. The only real problem it that the wind noise is really loud on the freeway. I normally ride with headphones in and I could not hear anything over the noise. I do like the built in sun shade and the massive amount of air that comes through weather the vents are open or not makes it very cool on hot days.
I have owned 2 other Shoei 3/4 helmets over the years. Shoei J-Cruise Helmet is the first with a face sheild. The face shield has worked great. Riding with the face shield down the ventilation is good and wind noise is minimal. Not ever having a face shield before, I raise it all the way when stopped on summer days, and when riding slow, I will raise it a little to get more air movement. I wear glasses and the sun shield works great. I really like that I can make all these adjustment with my left hand. Riding in the rain or at Interstate Highway speeds (80 mph) is what sold me on this helmet.
The fit, like my other Shoei helmets, is great, comfortable all day. As mentioned above, I am impressed with the face shield features. I have had some of the other features in previous Shoei helmets. The Shoei J-Cruise Helmet is well worth the price due to the quality and features.
Very good helmet , very comfortable to use. PINLOCK very useful in winter with the temperature close to 0 degrees Celsius , not the viewfinder fogging . For the value , it is an excellent cost / benefit helmet.
