A Great All Weather Street Tire

Take your standard high performance tire and if they're not built looking like a drag slick in the middle they soon will be as they wear down. Although these Syncs are considered dual-purpose, their tread pattern isn't so "off-road" that they look silly on a street bike. And what a GREAT All-Weather, High Performance tire! I've scrubbed both front and rear well beyond any chicken strips and can't find any weaknesses. I'd run 'em on the track.

I put 12k on my stock rear tire and wore it down to the cords. Great grip and wears nice.

Great tire!

This is the tire that Buell had as OEM for the Ulysses. I replaced the rear at about 5k miles. Since I have to leave town to get enough curves to wear on the sides, the middle wore out long before the sides. Still at 5k miles was much better than expected for the compound.

OEM for my Buell

Great tires even if they came as OEM. MSS was the absolute lowest price anywhere.

Pirelli Scorpion Sync Rear

Perhaps this is a sticky tire meant for cornering. Tread was 65% gone and a big flat spot after only 2000 miles of highway droning to Alaska on this new tire. Definitely not a distance tire. I had to leave it behind there and upgrade.

Pirelli Scorpion Sync

I own a naked bike (aka street fighter), which this tire is expressly designed for, and I could not make a better recommendation for this style of bike. This is my second Scorpion Sync rear-tire from Pirelli and the best tire I’ve ever ridden on. The tire (both front and rear) handles the roads in my area with ease, taking the tightest corners at speed without crabbing or wobble. My confidence in this tire is the highest I’ve ever experienced in more than 25 years of streetbike riding. I ride year-round back and forth to work, and the first Scorpion tires I bought have lasted a long time (18 months on the rear tire, still running the front tire), which surprised me, considering the softness of the rubber compound. Compared to some other Pirelli performance tires, this one seems to hold up longer. I hope Pirelli keeps making this tire for a long time to come!

Perfect except mileage

2007 Buell XB12stt. Daily commute = 20 on 20 off. Weekends = hardcore carving. Looking for my forth rear at 7000mi. I love the bike and tire for this purpose. I just wish I could get more miles.

Great tires to have on my Ducati Multi. Will hang with the sport bikes through the mountains, tires give up the grip progressively with good feedback. The suspension on this bike was designed with these tires so spring and damper settings don't need to be changed to compensate for different tire construction.

Decent On/Off Road Hoops

I have had these tires for several sets on my 2008 Ulysses. I have averaged 7,500 miles on the rear tire and approximately 9,000 miles on the front. Dry grip is amazing. Wet grip is satisfactory. My only wish is for more miles per tire.

The tread life is fair at best. Great on dirt and road when new. 4000 miles hard riding tire is done.

Great tire, terrible mileage

I don’t usually write reviews but I felt the need after only getting 2800 miles out of this tire. I have had three of these and haven't had one get more than 3000 miles. I ride fast and hard most of the time and I weight 200+ but still expected better mileage. I have it on my Ulysses and it feels great in all conditions except off road. I am trying the Scorpion Trail now with hope of better dirt traction and life.

good tire

I am using Scorpion Syncs on my Ducati 900ss/cr. This is my second set so of course I liked them. I got 8000 miles on the rear;11000 front. Air pressure was 33F-38R. Riding includes at least weekly canyon runs on the Ortega--Tires are balanced only with Dyna Beads. I weigh 220lbs---the bike is less than 400.

Poor

I don't really recommend this product...it wears in the middle and the side tread pops higher than the middle tread...really uncomfortable in corners and turns.

Pirelli Scorpion Syncs

I am on my second set of these on a 2009 Kawasaki Versys. They are better than the stock Dunlop D221s in pretty much every way. Better grip. Better in the wet and dry. Better feedback. Longer life. I like them quite a bit. I look forward to trying some sport touring tires on the bike as well to have a broader base of comparison, but I liked them well enough to buy a second set. Good tires on a damp or dirty road. Enough grip to hang with the sportbike guys up to a fairly brisk pace.
