Pirelli MT66 route

They last, they stick, i can beat on em and get 7k miles per rear tire on a cruiser weighing 800lbs, i have yet to replace the front, and used 3 rears, it's time for a new front, i swear by these tires, wet or dry, dependable and give me confidence. amazing tire and i use nothing else!!!

Worth every dollar

I looked at a lot of tires before picking out my next set,and these tires had the best reviews at my price range. I ride a 2012 Yamaha Royal Star Venture S as my daily commuter, as long as it's above 40° and there's no snow, and I commute 64mi round trip 5 days a week all highway miles. I bought a set of these tires 7k miles ago with lots of tread left. I cannot believe how well made these tires are. My bike is 900 lbs, with me it's 1150lbs and the ride is smooth on any surface on any turn. I will be buying another set again and again!

got incredible use and distance

I had these on my 07 vtx1300c. front and rear tires.they performed very well. No hard riding, just normal daily and highway cruising. rear had 10k and front about 8k when replaced. still looked great. others thought they were newer tires. Replaced at the advice of mechanic as my vtx started wobbling. big mistake, the tires were fine, needed new steering bearing.

Front end wobble

Same complaint as Gardner in the review above. I've ran the Dunlop D404, Metzler 888 on my Yamaha Road Star 1600 and never had this issue. I could let go of the bars at 100 mph with the other brand of tires with complete confidence. With the Pirelli's on front and rear the handlebars shake uncontrollably. Will be switching back to Dunlops or Shinko.

After 5,000 miles

These tires started out good but after 5,000 miles I'm getting wicked headshake in the handlebars when I let off the gas.

PIRELLI TIRES MT66

I have been using Pirelli MT 66 for over 5 years now this is the only tire I will use any more taking in the cost, performance, and tread life. I mount and balance tires myself and use very little if any wheel weights which is nice for balance. I have been riding for over 45 years and have used many different tires, this is my preference. Speed limit 75 here and I feel very confident riding at that speed with these tires.

Don't buy route 66 motorcycle tires

Tire started to come apart you could peel the rubber off the tire with your fingernail. I wouldn't recommend this tire to anyone

MT 66 actual mileage

I have the receipts and install work orders documenting 12,332 miles on my set of Pirelli MT66 tires. 2003 V Star 1100 classic: Front 130/90-16, Rear 170/80-15. 1st set installed 12/27/2010 odometer 20,155 miles 2nd set installed 03/21/2015 odometer 32,487 miles. Ran Dunlop 404's prior to the Pirelli's and got 4-5000 miles, night day difference in both tread life and ride. I have total confidence in this tire.

PIRELLI MT66 ROUTE CRUISER REAR TIRE

Good tires. Good stability. Good value. Teenie bit slippery on a wet road, but not that bad...IMO it is related to my power management. This is my second set of MT66's. Rears deliver in the upper 6K mile range, fronts are in the 8K mile range. Road Star 1700, I am 230 lbs, bike has full bags and luggage. Usually loaded full of stuff. Tires carry the load well. Price vs. performance is right on par. No complaints and no concerns.

still pretty new

I had one on my Honda Aero years ago and it was a great tire- lasted well past 13k if I remember right. I have 1,000 miles on it now and it's too soon to tell but looks like it'll hold up on my Suzuki VL 1500. I have a rear MT66 on my front and it's got 12k on it with hardly any signs of wear. I know we're not supposed to do that but I'll get over it!

Bought one, and then another....

I bought a front/rear set of the Pirelli MT66. After about 1,500 miles I noticed splits in the rear tire sidewall. I ordered another Pirelli MT66 so I would not have a mismatched pair and ended up leaving on my ride a week later. The Pirelli MT66 is turning out to be one of the most expensive tires I have ever bought for a motorcycle.
