great tire for price, rear tire on front

A GREAT tire for the price!! I use a rear motorcycle tire on the front of my Vulcan 1600 Classic. I match the same size as the standard front tire (130/90/16), it is skinny for a rear tire but readily available. A rear tire has more tread and a longer life and does NOT adversely affect handling. Using a rear tire on the front also helps those who use a car tire on the rear. Smooths out any handling glitches.

    smooth steady safe tires

Awesome tire at an even better price. The tires arrived in three days with 10/32 rear/ 7/32 front. I get around 5.5k per rear tire, that is about 1/32 per 550 miles. I give this 230 a five star for everything- especially wet traction this is my third 230 front and rear. I change them both at the same time. The front still has 3/32 left at this price you can't go wrong and both tires are less than two months old manufacture date every purchase.

    tire wear

This tire was a pretty good tire for the price. Put this on my '05 Heritage Softail in August '14, but is not designed to be a touring tire. I have only got 5,800 miles out of it. I kept my air pressure at 35psi. If you don't ride a lot it would probably last longer, but I ride everyday. Would not recommend to use as a touring tire.

    Why pay double the money?

Any doubt about quality? Shinko was purchased by Yokohama Tires, one of the best tire manufacturers in the world. I bought two Shinkos (front and back) for the price of one of their competitors tires. Better ride than the Dunlops I had on my Venture before and no noise whatsoever. Very pleased with the purchase and always very pleased with the great service from Motorcycle Superstore. Sincerely, JL

    Tire Review

I have rode motorcycles for 60 years. I have ridden on all kinds of tires. This tire rides as nice as any I have had on my motorcycle. I am waiting to see how many miles I get on this tire. Great tire for a great price.

    Shinko 230 Tour Master

I recently replaced my rear tire which was a Dunlop to the Shinko, I also replaced my front tire which was already a Shinko 230 Tour Master. I love the traction these tires provide and they are better when it comes to cornering. I will continue to use these tires as long as I have my bike.

    Great Tire, Great Price

I really like the 230 Tour Master. I replaced a Dunlop 404 on the rear of my VTX1300c, and it rides smoother and sticks better at a lot less money. I only have about 700 miles on it so I can't testify to the tread life, but everything else is tops.

    great tire

This is the second rear tire I have bought. Put front and rear Shinko's on last year. Got a year of riding out of the rear. Front looks like it will go two. Not sure exactly how many miles I got on the rear but I am guessing about 7,500. I have an '04 Electra Glide and I am a big guy. This bike felt like riding a bus with the Dunlop's it had on it. With the Shinko it handles like a dream. Bike feels much lighter and responsive. Love this tire.

    Best Tires I have owned

I have had Metzlers and Dunlops on my bike, and they are both completely blown out of the water by the Shinko Tour Master on all aspects. Best tires I have ever had. I will continue to save a couple hundred bucks and get a way better tire than the "top" brands make.

Shinko 230 Series Best Cornering since Pirelli Night Dragon

Over 60,000 in 5 years the Shinko 230 takes my Nomad through the twisties more decisively then Metzler and the Bridgestone Spitfire. First matched pair, since Bridgestone and they are AWESOME! The rear has just over 1,000 miles and looking good. We ride mostly Western US, So. Utah, Arizona, Nevada and California. Many rides crossing the Sierra Nevada's, Ebbett's Pass, Sonora Pass, favorite rides are Kern River and Sequoia's and Kings Canyon. Highly recommended....LONGRIDERS =)

    Why Pay More ?

I ride a 2000 Kawasaki Voyager 1200 and use it for Funeral Escorts. I escort over 100 funerals a year and usually drive over 6000 miles per year. I put new tires on every November, even though they will go more miles. Alot of high speed and stop-N-go. These tires have always performed well. Have tried other brands in the past such as Dunlap and Bridgestone, but why pay more.

    Shinko Tour Master 230

Replaced the original Dunlop rear tire on my Vulcan Classic 900LT with the Tour Master 230. Saved $30.00 over dealership price at Motorcycle Superstore. Great price and fast free delivery. Tire has very good grip and ride quality. Great tire for the price.
