Great ire

Previously had higher priced tires that cost in the 250 range.(Metzeler and Dunlops Dunlops were horrible. Metzelers were great expensive.) Would get mileage from 6k (Dunlops) to 12k(Metzelers). Decided to give these a try in 2015. I ride a 2006 Suzuki C90 Boulevard as my commuter bike. Mostly ride all back roads at speeds around 50. Since 2006 put 50,000 miles on the bike with trips to VT. These tires are great on back roads and highway. Quiet and grip nice. Since July 2015 I have put 11.5 K on these tires. Front looks great still and the back is now in need of changing. Side walls still have their tread, but main surface area of tire is bare. All in all great tire for the money. I am ordering a new rear now. For a third of the price for the same wear and feel of much more expensive tires, these are a no-brainer for me.

V-star 650 with new Shinko's installed

Just had the Shinko 230's installed on my 05 v-Star 650 Silverado and so far, they seem great. No shimmy, good stopping and smooth ride. Have not yet rode in the rain yet, but I'm sure that will come soon enough. These tires replaced Bridgestones and for the price, how can not give them a try. I use the bike for commuting to and from work so 3/4 of the ride is highway and the other 1/4 is back roads. Other riding include the blue ridge parkway and back roads. Eager to see how these tire hold up, but the dealer I use recommended them and a customer at the dealership said he had a set and loved them.

Inexpensive Tires

I have had these tires on my 08 Boulevard C50T since Sept 2014. Nearly 20,000 miles and no problems. I ride nearly every day in Tacoma and these tires are awesome. Great wet traction and cornering, and excellent tread life. I use my bike as my commuter vehicle and the tires still look nearly new. I would definitely recommend these to anyone looking for a reasonably inexpensive set of tires that will last for a while.

Shinko 230 Tour Master

Excellent tire for vintage bikes. I highly recommend them to my customers and folks on all the web sites I visit. A great value. These have a higher speed rating than competitive tires at a fraction of the cost. I have them on my own bikes and I'm impressed by their handling characteristics. J.R. CBX-tras.

Not a bad tire for the price

I bought these tires for my 1981 Yamaha Virago 750 around the middle of March 2016. They rode quiet without any shimmy or shake for the full riding season of about 11k miles. The only issue I ran across was after the tire wore down roughly half tread it didn't have all that great wet traction while cornering. I can see where the negative reviews can say that tread life is horrible leading me to believe that this tire is not suitable for the big heavy cruisers. I'm gonna be purchasing another matching rear spring 2017 and see how it last.

THE tire. Period.

Used the 230s front and rear for years in all 4 seasons. Hot, cold, wet, dry, you name it. Total confidence. I usually just go with flow so my treadwear is averaging 20-22k on the fronts and 9-12k on the rears. Great tires and great service here as well.

I love these tires

The price is deceiving. I ride a large cruiser (850+). Yet I'm an aggressive rider due to my past riding experiences. Examples are TT. Speedway, and many other competitive riding sports. I've have used an array of different tires. I have become extremely comfortable riding on these tires. They really stick in the corners, and wear evenly unlike other brands costing 2 & 3 times as much, that have mixed tread compounds. This is my sixth set and will continue to purchase Shinkos.

Shinko Rear Tire

I just got this tire placed on my bike and I have no bad things to say. It's too soon for a solid good review, but so far I am very pleased. I have yet to hit any wet roads, but the South Texas heat on the roads is quite harsh and, even brand new, were mildly impressive (I'm hard to impress, so this is a great thing!). Only because it is too soon for a solid good rating, I've lowered my rating to 4 stars on the items I have yet to be solid on.

cross country and back

Great tire...bought this tire to put on the rear of my 1994 Honda Shadow 1100 before a trip from Pennsylvania to California and back. After a 6300 mile round trip the tire barely showed any signs of wear and rode through the desert and some impressive downpours with hail...all with no complaints from me. My mechanic is so impressed with them that he has recommended them to several other riders looking for a good tire at a reasonable price.

Seems to be a pretty good tire. Can't rate wet weather or tread life as tire was purchased for some one else.

good tire for the price

so far this tire has exceeded mi expectations for a tire of this price. it corners well and grips the road under hard acceleration. I have an old Suzuki gs1100 set for power and this tire seems to hold up to it as well as my old Dunlops as for tread wear time will tell. I will definitely buy again.
