No Problems

I got 7000 miles out of the first one on my Vulcan 800, it wasn't quite down to the wear bars but was rather flattened out, decent traction in all conditions, well balanced, I think it's a bit stickier than the stock tire was. This will be my third and I'm glad I didn't try a more expensive one, I just got a deep gash in my last one from some road hazard and it'd really suck to have to replace a $100 plus tire. The only improvement I can think of would be a dual compound but that would increase the price and make early replacement much more painful. It's got an unusual tread pattern, I like it.

Great deal!

This is the second set of Shinko 230’s I purchased from Motorcycle Superstore for my ‘85 GoldWing, getting over 7,000 miles on the first set. The smooth ride and handling (even in wet weather) are all very good. The cornering ability of these tires is so confidence-inspiring, I frequently scrape my running boards while on highway ramps! Being pleased with the performance and the low price (and fast, free shipping!), I purchased a new set. I mounted and balanced the tires myself, and they required minimal weights. Even at high speeds there is no vibration. You definitely get your money’s worth out of these.

High Value

I'm on my 3rd set on a V-Star 950. I get 8K on the rear and about 12K on the front. I'm a distance rider and they work good in all weather situations. Harold seems to be under the impression that cost = wear Ha! I've spent twice as much for tires that wore the same as these.

Shinko 230 Tour Master Rear Tire

Perfect tire for a 750. Had it mounted for about a month and rode it in the rain and 100 degree temps. Great grip that beats the OEM Bridgestone.

GREAT TIRE

I have 2 HD's I always ran Metzlers at $150 I got 7000 mi at most. I tried SHINKO's,I got like 6999 mi on them at half the price. Rain or shine they worked every bit as good as the Metzlers. I have ran about 4 or 5 an i'm sold. Screw Metzler

You get what you pay for

This is a cheaper tire. With that being said you will not get the life that you will with a more expensive dual compound tire. I ride my bike as a daily commuter. I do not ride freeways, This is my 3rd tire. It lasts anywhere between 5k to 6k miles. All of these miles are on secondary mountain roads. Honda shadow sabre 1100. For the price you pay they are a good tire. you want better you'll have to pay for it.

Great tire for the price

I can't speak to durability yet, but I just installed this and did an Iron Butt through torrential downpours with no traction issues. With my previous tires I had to be careful accelerating on wet pavement, especially through curves; but I was very pleased with the wet grip on these tires.

Great tire so far.

I put a set of Shinko tire on a bobber I built and have really enjoyed them so opted to put them on my other bike as well. The ride is smooth, handling is great, I can't speak on wet traction due to not having it in the rain, and can't say much on wear because they only have about 250 miles so far. But if the other Shinko tires I have are an indication, they'll do great

Not for Horse Power Bikes

I bought this tire, I have about 2500 miles on it. about time to replace it. If you have horse power i would not recommend this tire. Did not last..

Do not recommend..JUNK

Do not recommend this tire..We bought this tire at the end of last year in September. We did not put that many miles on it, and we stored it all winter. We just begun riding this summer and it is already worn out. Not a good rear tire at all. Wears out way to fast after spending almost 100 bucks!

Never buying again

I bought this tire in August 2015 and put somewhere between 3k-5k on before storing for the winter months. I will never buy this brand again and I won't be recommending this tire to anyone else either. It looks like a nice tire but wears very quickly and I don't ride crazy or do burnouts either.

When using a Shinko 230 FRONT on the REAR. Which direction should it be mounted? Thanks Pat at Patcotech Cycles
