This IS a budget tire... so...

Unlike some of the other bike heroes who review tires I am not a street racing god who shreds up the tarmac every time I go out... I have no idea where they ride so hard without being caught or killed but I wish I could go there... that said I do ride pretty fast but I have been trained how and I would say 'smooth' riding is my forte - so take from that what you will. I ride like a real person who likes to use his bike to HIS full potential, not the bikes. I ride 1000+ sporty bikes such as Blackbirds, etc. My last bike was a Fazer 1000 and my current is a Tiger 1050. So lots of torque and drive but not heavy touring behemoths but neither are they super light. So I thought I'd give these a try as they are cheap and after all it's just rubber isn't it? Well no, turns out it's not. I usually get over 8,000 miles out of a rear and up to 10,000 on a front (SMOOTH riding remember, I wheelie often but not out of EVERY turn or stoppie at every light) so I was disappointed to only get 3,500 and 3,800 out of two attempts with this brand - the front lasted for both sets of rears. For 'normal' every day riding these tires work just fine, honestly you'd never know the difference but on more spirited corners they start to show their weakness... Traction is adequate but slips a little in the wet which can be fun but unnerving at first. So bearing in mind these are about 2/3's the cost of a competitor but last half as long... are they REALLY an economical tire?

Never again will buy this brand

The tires worked O.K. for about 4K miles, and then, suddenly it started getting mini punctures all over. Just in 2 weeks, it had 6 repairs. C'mon! what was that? there was no indications that I passed on top of glass or nails. They just started appearing day after day. I would find my tire almost every morning under-inflated. This tires have cost me a lot of money on repairs already and the thread is not exactly good anymore. I am waiting for Meltzers now from this store to arrive tomorrow and replace this pieces of trash. NEVER AGAIN! do not buy this brand and save yourself some money.

Great tire!

So my previous tire was a pilot power. I switched to this tire mainly because of price. I got around 4k miles on it. Which isn't bad considering the way I ride. The tire is very soft but it grips great! Felt comfortable and with 0 chicken strip I'd say it's confirmed. I ride a 2000 TL1000R. Big heavy bike. I was impressed and I plan on sticking with this tire. I rode it until the cords were showing.

Good for warm straight line acceleration. Very sketchy in the turns. Feels like it's going to slide out at any given moment. Awesome tread life. Will never try another.

Not Bad

So far it's been a good quality tire. Was excited by the way it looked when it was put on. Its been about a month so don't know how long the tread will last, I'm currently a daily rider and it's going steadily but not slow. But like I said I'm a daily rider so it's quicker for me. Especially riding a supersport.

4000 miles on a tiger

The 095 was a but better then the conti motions I usually buy and much better then the stealth I will never again buy. The tiger 1050 is a notorious tire destroyer and I woukd say the 005 held up pretty good despite that. I ride pretty hard and usually with a pillion so the tire gets loaded pretty hard. Combine that with my usual routes being twisty and poorly paved and it makes for a tough row to hoe for any tire.

Shinko 005 Advance

I previously had the softer Stealth Shinko, which rode really nice but tread life was understandably short so I ordered the Shinko Advance to fit my riding habits and so far I am very satisfied. I never experienced wet traction as of yet, but cornering and stability performances are excellent.

Rear OK, Front not so much.

I purchased both the front and rear tires. After installation and about 100 miles in, I started to get vibrations up front. My first thought was that I may have thrown a wheel weight. I took it back into the shop and asked for a re-balance. Turned out the tire had a bump in the tread. He rebalanced as best as he could, but the vibration will be there until I replace the tire, which unfortunately will be before the end of this riding season. Will not buy again.

I rode to Spokane it was nice when I left but I came back in rain and slush. These dont hydroplane and you dont have to warm them up to ride. I love them better then the 2cts I usually get.

So far so good

I just put one of these on the back of my SV650, rode about 1200 miles so far highway, corners, rain. It never flinched when hitting the corners. It definitely boosted my confidence from the last set of Metzlers I had. I think the shinko is a near perfect tire for price on my SV.

I trust them

I had a brand new Shinko 005 on my 1993 Cbr 1000f. The rear only, and my bike has a little weight on it (500 lbs) but I trust it on a far lean. I have had my bike all the way over and they held like a dream. I got about 3000 miles, but that's because I like to have fun. Bought another from Motosport recently. I cannot spin this tire when taking off, and as for wet riding, use common sense haha, but it will hold to the ground.
