Feels good

I've only been riding on it for about 300 miles, mostly commuting on the freeway. Rode it while it was pouring rain and dry. Feels good. Once I break it in a little more, I'll push it and see what happens.

Shinko on CBR500R

The CBR500R is not a huge power, rear tire eating beast but is a great commuter bike that gets the job done. So far I have 2000 miles on this rear tire and have not had any issues with traction or stability. I love the way this tire turns into corners. When front is worn out I will get a matching front!

Impressive!

After hard use such as backing into corners and overall extreme braking and lean angles, this tire performs as a good tire should. Compared to more expensive tires which I go through as fast as I do, I can tell you this. They stick better than the others, they slide with predictability, and are so confidence inspiring, I run lean angles in the rain that would otherwise cause me not to even attempt on the "other" tires. 5 star rating is an understatement, If anyone complains about tire life, then buy a hard compound tire and limit your riding to mild. and be Bored....But how do you ride a fast sportbike mildly? That's the hard part! Trust your tires feedback and you will know what it is going to do for you before your in trouble. And save money too!

Better than I hoped

I gotta say I only went for this tire because it's the only tire on the market that still comes in a stock size for my 1988 FZR 400. I'm an ex racer (slow) and I've recently started to do track days on the FZR. I used to run Bridgstones, and I was a little leery about these tires but after a couple of track days I am getting more and more confident in them. I can run them all the way to the edge and drag a knee after they are warmed up (it does take a few laps to get them hot).

Great Tire

A much better tire for my 89 FZR600 than the original oversized trash that was on it.

Decent on the cheap

I ran the Shinko Podium on the rear or my 95 CBR900RR. Warms up decently quick, and sticks fairly well when in a deep lean. Only had it out in the wet a few times, it held up ok (I took it extremely easy). Very stable at speed (had it up to over a very high speed) and transitions well in the twisties. My one gripe is the tread life. After one hard season of 30% backroads 10% city and a 60% highway, the center tread is non-existent. I got about 2500 miles out of it total. It is a pretty soft compound for being labeled "intermediate", but the grip isn't what I'd like it to be for how quickly it wore down. I just ordered a Pilot Power 3 as its replacement. Hopefully the PP3 is worth the extra $50.

1999 Yamaha FZR 600

It's hard to find rear tires for my FZR, but the Shinko was the right size, and a great price. I've been running the tire for about 3 weeks now. It feels very nice, no problems on the corners. Seems to be wearing as well as the Pirelli it replaced. I was going to get a Battleax, but compared to the Podium, it looked outdated.

Beware

Put about 3000 on mine. Tread not that great. Scary during one storm. Felt it slip. Ride is 50 miles a day. 25 on smooth cement and 25 on asphalt.

Not a good stunt tire..

I thought since this was a Shinko (synonymies for being cheap and hard) and had a lot of slipping that it would be a good drifting tire. Not the case. Pretty grippy. Probably a decent road tire though
