Me880 misery

Put on a fresh set for a trip around Nova Scotia. About 1500 miles later the rear delaminated or blew a belt at speed. It was hot weather riding 2 up loaded for vacation. The bike wasnt quite sidways but close. The RCMP Cop tailing me said he thought we were "goners". Friggin nightmare ensued to get back traveling with a donated used tire on a saturday afternoon. When I got home I bought another Me880 figuring it was a fluke. Last week we ran up the maine turnpike to Bath then backroads home. Bike felt sqirrely. Just now found chunks of rubber missing and delaminated. Front tire not half worn yet. Time for something safer

Ok tyre not for the committed corner speed knee down type More your going for a long lazy ride Unless it rains or if you meet rain wile your out then you want to be slowing down and keeping your distance like say it's not rained all summer then it throws it down and all that diesel comes up. That's what it's like in any rain You look at the tired pattern and it makes you think that they will be a good all round tyre but no there not. Sorry metzler I'm sure there good on distance but you have got to get to do that distance first.

Love em

This is the third or fourth set on my 06 v-rod. Never had too many issues with these. Once I start hitting the higher mileages they start to flat spot in the center (lots of hwy miles), which doesn't affect it too much, just have to coax it over a little more when cornering or leaning. I've never had one separate, but I also don't take the chance of running them down to the cords. I swap them when I hit the wear markers, as the wet traction begins to decline dramatically. They can also slip a bit if you're being an idiot in the rain, but I like that they're hard so when I lock up the rear to communicate I need more following distance, they don't flat spot. :-) I've ridden 40k miles on this bike, with these tires on there for almost all of those miles. My bestie prefers Avons on his, but he also pays more, and doesn't get quite the mileage I do. I'm not sure what kind of mileage I get, but it's a torquey bike, and I'm on the throttle a lot. Maybe this time I'll keep track.

Terrible tire

Always out of round. Production problems and should all be recalled. Don't waste your money.

Cruiser Bike Tire

I have had better for cornering tires for wet conditions, but in all other categories it out performs any other tire I have used. I can hang off the seat, lay my VN900LT over until the engine cradle tubes scrape the ground and the tires hold on dry road. A sticker tire would be pointless. The shape and tread design work well on freeway grooves and cracks and lain line dots--very little "shimmy". My next tires will probably be ME880's as well, unless Metzler makes ME888's for my mc by then.

Best tire

After 2 OE Dunlops and 2 others this tire has the best ride, handling, traction and wear of them all. Very stable on rain grooves, bridges and road cracks. Better mileage than both Dunlops combined. 2nd time buying for my 08 CVO Road King.

Metzler ME 880

I have these Tires on my Bike. It's my First Bike ever. A Honda VTX 1800 and I was very worried about beginning my Biker Experience on such a large bike. When I first got the bike the tires were ready to be changed and I got these Metzler Marathon 880 tires and I have to say the high quality and comfort and extra traction and stability have only boosted my confidence and I catch myself wanting to ride every chance I get everyone I talk to about tires for Cruiser type bikes all said Metzler is the best and I absolutely agree. Thank you Motorcycle Superstore for such a consistent and reliable product I will only buy Metzler tires for the life of my Bike

I have to say that these tires are the best out there! I'm a daily rider so cold, wet, dry, you name it. On the stock Dunlops i would get about 12,000 miles, but with Metzeler I get double the mileage. It's rare but i was able to get both my front and rear tires to 26,000 miles. (without any cupping) I usually ride highway from 80-90mph, i use balancing beads on both tires, and check my tire pressure on a weekly basis.

NO WONDERING ON GROOVED ROADS

I have used these tires on my 95 Harley since the factory ones wore out. These wear ok and ride fine. The one thing these tires do is keep your motorcycle steady on grooved roads and mental grate bridges. These are the only tires that keep the motorcycle from wondering all over the road on grooves. I have been riding Harley's since 1968 and the only thing that scares me is running on miles of grooved highway. The rain makes it worse. These tires hold the road you do not notice the grooves at all. I buy them for that reason alone.

Better than Stock Dunlop

New '07 900 LT for a first Bike now with 29000. A lot less than 10000 miles on the Dunlops around Ft. Bragg, NC. Shop recommended that I go with these. They rode so much better and have lasted @20,000+. They have been on since the spring '08 so they have sat for Months at a time. Especially between the move from NC to KY and again during the Winters here in KY. I don't have a garage to keep the Bike in so it's under a cover but still outside. The only reason I am looking now is they are starting to air crack. Front still has plenty of Tread and the rear still has the tits on the sides but the center is getting down close to the wear marks. Don't know if it's hardening of the compound over time or what but they are squirrelly when the roads up here are damp and the tired cold. Been caught in the Rain more than once and they have been fine. A little slick but I Ride like Grandma drives when the roads are wet so they're entirely predictable. Reading the reviews just muddy the waters. More positive than negatives but I believe I will go back with these as they have been great and everyone I Ride with, who have many more years experience riding than I do and we all have the same Bike, tell me these are the best for our type of Riding.
