Dunlops rock!

I now prefer to always use these tires on my Victory Kingpin. Once I tried Metzler and another time Perelli. For the Kingpin Cruiser bike, I usually get 12,000 miles on the Dunlops. Your mileage all depends on your riding style. If you like to take hard and fast corners, and if you have a sports bike, then you will prefer the softer tires (Perelli, Metzler). If you ride a cruiser and ride more conservatively, then the Dunlop is the way to go. With any tire, the more aggressive you ride results in faster tire wear.

I wanted a tough tire

The Dunlop is twice as tough as the Metzler. To date, I've put on 130,000 miles on my VROD and the only time I had a blow-out was on a Metzler. This happened inside McHenry Tunnel. So back to Dunlops. I want long tread wear and toughness. I am not a cornering monger so I don't select sticky tires that wear out fast. Know the differences and kit up to suit how you ride. I've plugged several tires during the last 11 years, front and rear..they always held fine. I had 2 sets of Metzelers and when I went to plug one (rear), the awl went in like cheeze....VS I struggled to get the boring awl into the Dunlop. Dunlop is a thicker and stronger tire. NEVER had any problems with them. The highest mileage I got on a Dunlop rear tire was 13,000 miles...I get about 22K on the fronts. I ride at 80 mph mostly on interstates The other brands do not state they are road kings, but corner kings so that is why I haven't bought any. I thought I'd try the Bridgestone but reviews say they wear out fast.

horrid tire

I don't know how people can like this tire. I recently purchased a Super Sport 600 Ninja. For some odd reason these are the tires that are on it. I have almost had a high side from drops of water on a corner. They are twitchy at speed in a corner. Glad my bike is good enough to give me feedback so I know that I cannot push them anymore. I have around 1/2 inch chicken strips and no way I will get rid of them. If you are going to give up this much life why can't they be better?

Screamin Eagle V Rod

I have these on my Screamin Eagle V Rod. They handle great but you have to sacrifice tread life for handling. It's the only way to go!

VROD tire

Good in the wet. Grippy enough for the type of bike it fits. Usually get around 5,000 miles out of them, have burned one up in 4,000 riding in California. Once it squares off it goes away fast.

great tire

Got about 7000 miles out of this tire & it performed great on my 05 vegas. I ride about 80 miles a day rain or shine as this is my daily driver it may not last as long as a metzeler but it handles much better.

poor milage

Like the tire, but 4000 miles and the cords are showing. Does anyone make a 180-55-18 that’s any good?
