    Avon AM42 Rear Tire

I previously had Avons on my sport tourer. I needed a new tire on my Venture. There was mixed reviews on the Avons. Some loved them and had no problems. And then many had sidewall cracking issues. I decided to try them. It has been 3 months and about 2000 miles and both sides of the sidewall around the entire tire are cracked. The manufacture date was only 6 months or so prior to me buying it so the tire is roughly a year old.

Replaced the OEM tires with these and at a little over 9K miles on them, they still looked brand new before I traded my bike in! Great tire and would buy this brand again!

Great tire all the way around. There are 3 of us running these and we consistently get 18,000 to 25,000 miles and we ride hard.

Looks good, rides great, no cupping. 2005 Road King with a hopped up motor. 110 TQ, 108HP. Pulling hard on straights will wear it out in center core. 5 star tire!

Had them for 16,000 miles on the Avons and they are showing no wear. Love these tires / tyres. So much better than the stock Dunflops.

The only tires to use on a 124 ci. harley davidson. After 12 years on 2000 fxsts and 10tires later, still my favorite. No balance marks. Mounted on chrome Extreme Machine forged wheels. Never took a weight. Keep both tires at 40 psi for max miles.

    tire wear

I've seen no appreciable difference between a 70 dollar tire and 150 dollar tire. I just bought a Shinko to replace the Avon. I ride a lot, 30k miles in the last 2.25 years. I change tires twice a year regardless of the make. The Avon weather checked pretty badly right at the rim which I haven't seen with Dunlop, Shinko, or Michelin. The only reason I wouldn't buy another Avon is I get the same performance and life from a less expensive tire.
