I left a reveiw on the 888 with maybe only 1000 miles on the tires. I now have about 4 thousand on them and my opinion is better. I rate them better at this pt. that the commander 2.wear,handling rain and groves are better. I,ll see how far they go into the next season. Both makes are great tires and I wouldn't buy from anyone else than superstore. just the best.period.
The best tire I have ever had on my 2002 Harley Davidson Electra glide they don't follow groves in the road and the rear tire lasted me almost two years and I ride over a 100 miles a day to work and back not counting the rides me and my wife take so I recommend them to everyone
After my rear tire wore out to chords in only 6k miles, I searched for the best tire that would fit my Cross County dresser. So I'm trying out the Dunlop Elite 4. My old front had sufficient tread but I like to have a matching pair. So far I've put about a thousand miles on the tire. I haven't had any issues on dry streets or wet freeways. A time or two on wet city streets it felt a bit concerning. That may just have been me. I'm riding two to three hours a day depending on traffic on a Victory Cross Country dresser. I'll know more on tread life in another 5k miles.
I'm trying out the Dunlop Elite 4 to see if I get any increase in mileage. So far the performance is comparable to the Metzler 888 that I wore out in 6k miles. I ride a 60 mile round trip commute to work each day on freeways and city streets. The tire grabs well and sticks in corners. I haven't experienced any issues when it was raining. I've had these tires on for a few hundred miles. Time will tell if the Dunlop mileage will exceed the Metzler/Perelli rear tires'. I ride a Cross Country full dress Victory.
