Completely perfect for my 2015 Kawasaki KLR long distance touring

After 2800 miles on the stock dunslops tires when I purchased the 2015 Kawasaki KLR 650 in August there were a few things I noticed. Primarily that the bike began to shake extensively at 55 to 60 on and it was from both the front and rear allowing the bike to dance all over the place at 70. Vibrating all over the place is a bit of a concern as I use it daily and have the bike set up for long range interstate touring not really interested in playing in the dirt trails regardless of the origin. The second issue on the original dunslops was the fact that lean angle was limited as there were a few moments where I could feel the side knobbies talking back saying you are leaning too much. Factor in the poor traction on pavement or asphalt if you needed to stop short due to someone cutting you off or pulling out in front of you and you simply have a disaster waiting to happen. I received the replacement tourance next tires and changed them out myself then having the local dealer balance the front and rear tires properly. Once I had the new tires on the bike and mounted I put about a hundred miles plus on before I wanted to see what changes would take place. Again I use the bike about 90% road commuting and 10% trails so application wise I am perfect with this tire for commuting and touring. The changes that I have found are as follows; 1.) Absolutely zero vibration at 85mph front or rear. 2.) The bike is incredible at highway speeds. 3.) Lean angles are much better and safer however be mindful of any debris on the roadway but that is for any tire. 4.) The tire compound is equal to that or an adhesive on the basis that short panic style stops are much more controllable and you are not sliding all over the place as you would be with the stock dunslop tires. 5.) I will not know mileage for fuel or tire life for a while due to the fact the change out was recent but I will update. 6.) Absolutely better control of the bike in traffic or while going on a long ride be it for lean angle, starting, stopping, and performance overall a completely different bike which is just fantastic. The international touring will be in the future and from there I will most likely go after the Karoo 3’s simply based on the performance of the Metzeler product line. Overall the bike is completely changed and overall riding is so much better.

Very different from Tourance

Can't comment on the tread life yet but vs the older model: 1) Far more accurate handling, moving around in the lane is effortless by comparison 2) Grip in the rain is much better, have not had the traction control kick in yet. 3) ABS hasn't activated in the rain yet either. So far worth the extra money over the older generation of Tourance

Great all round tire for R1200GS

Great tire for 90/10 road and dirt riding. Getting 9K+ miles out of the front tire and overall works very well in a wide range of conditions.

tire handling and traction

Great tires and great handling. Low noise and smooth ride from the moment they were installed. Went to Utah on and off road- great on gravel and sand as well as rocky roads. Unlike Anakee 3's these tires have virtually no road noise. I will buy them again.
