Jacket

Overall , a great fit except for the sleeves But, if I got a smaller size, the sleeves would be OK, but the rest of the jacket would be too small.

New and improved

I have an Alpine Stars jacket that is 9 years old. It has served me well. This jacket is great because someone listened to suggestions. The liner zipper is red and the outside pocket zipper is in red also so they are easy to find. This jacket has chest protection which my old one did not. More Alpine Stars name tags which I like on the jacket. I wish they would have left the zipper on the sleeves instead of the snaps. I highly recommend this jacket for an all weather jacket because of the Drystar feature and the zip out liner.

Perfect for Houston winter riding!

Fits well. Easy to close, doesn't take an assistant on get on. In the AM 45F weather it keeps me toasty and with good ventilation can adjust air flow as it warms up during the ride home from work. Kept me completely dry riding in the rain!

Alpinestars Andes Drystar

I rode at 75 mph, with a 15 - 20 mph cross wind, and it was raining pretty hard, at 48 degrees F, for 40 minutes. I stayed warm and dry but my outside pockets were wet. Some water got in my wrist cuffs but that was due to my gloves. I bought the high vis yellow and I really like how bright it is! I am 5'11" 175 lbs and a large fit me well. I think the zippers could have been a little heavier. I am pleased with purchase.

Functional, quality, handsome

I ordered four textile adventure style jackets from Motorcycle Superstore at the same time. This one I kept. The pocket size and ease of entry were better than the others. I liked the built-in single layer wind/waterproof barrier. The other jackets were more complex with multiple layers and consequently more bulky. The rear pocket holds the insulating layer - very convenient. I read some concerns about ventilation given that the airflow from zip vents goes between the barrier and exterior fabric. I've ridden in 100 deg and was fine. The trick is open the neck and tuck gloves inside cuff with cuff loose to the wind. Very well made, tailored look, handsome. You get what you pay for.

Quality, good looking, versatile

I ordered this along with 4 other leading brand comparable jackets, including a couple more expensive ones. I kept this because: pockets are easier to enter, has more storage space, rear large pocket holds zip out thermal layer, multiple ways to ventilate, really good looking tailored look, and has 1 zip out layer. Waterproof layer is built-in, making layers easier to manage. I found no problem in heat. Just lower front zip, open pockets, wear gloves under sleeves and plenty of air circulates.

Runs Small - Good return policy

We were aware of the sizing chart differences between this brand and other brands, so we sized upward. Unfortunately, we had to send it back because even sizing upward it was still several sizes too small. It's really not a "big guy's" jacket. Aside from that, it's very well made and they don't mess around when it comes to material, stitching, reinforcing zippers and pockets, etc... The return policy is good though.

Awesome Jacket!

Very pleased so far! I'm just shy of 6' and 170 lbs, bought these and the matching pants. They fit well and are very comfortable, Alpinestars have always fit me well in the past. Lots of venting and pockets. I've yet to get rained on and in my experience, nothing has been truly waterproof, at least not after a couple of hours, but am excited to see how well these work. If you're on the fence, make the jump, great gear for the price.
