Michelin Anakee 3 Adventure Touring Rear Tire

These tires are way better in person that the pics online

I upgraded from the Anakee 2s on my R1200GS, and I really like them. Did 1,300 miles of highway, twisties and dirt over a weekend. In all cases the tires held firm, including some really nasty trails. I didn't get to ride in the rain, but I did ride in some snow...I dropped the bike, but I cannot blame the tires. Again, the pictures don't do these tires justice.

Anakee 3

I have been riding for over 40 years. These tires have provided the most substantial change in the performance and handling of my motrocycle. I currently have several bikes but have recently placed the Anakee 3's on my KLR which has become my favorite bike. The tires have wet traction in heavy rain. They track well and lose no traction in the curves. Off road I mainly ride fire roads and dirt roads and they perform well there as well.

Great tire but LOUD

Put them on 2 weeks ago. Took off for a 7k mile trip. They look good still, a little squared. Rode 7 days in rain from heavy to light. Great traction and tread life but so loud, they give me a headache... even with earplugs.

Best Adventure Tire yet

I've had the Bridgestones, Metzeler, and Anakee II - this is, road-wise, the best. And it's surprisingly good on the dirt roads and ATV trails. Of course, none of the 90-10 tires handle mud but these handle loose stuff and rocks well. I think of it as a big SuperMotard as opposed to a Streetable Dirtbike. Motorcycle Superstore had the tire and the service to make the change over quick and easy.

tires that sing

Just put 4000 miles on a set on a Moto Guzzi Stelvio, first half with camping gear, second half two up. All of it heavy. Slow, fast, smooth, bumpy, twisty and straight they rode great. What was not good was that from 62 to 69 mph they made a high pitched whine that could get really annoying. I spent a fair amount of time in that range and got pretty tired of them singing to me. At 5k they still look great and haven't lost any air like most bike tires do.

Anakee 3

Great tire, great traction, but most of all great tire life. I'm getting at least 3500 miles more on my 1200 GS than I did with the Tourance tire.

Anakee 3 Tire

This tire is a replacement for the Anakee 2 rear tire. I got 11,000 miles out of the Anakee 2. This new one has only 2400 miles and is not showing any wear. The handling is the best. I ran 250 miles in light rain in the twisties. Very good in the rain. The stability is good. I would recommend this tire to anyone. I have only done a few, maybe 20 miles on dirt. Not bad, but there would be better choices if dirt is your thing.

Anakee 3 rear tire

The new A3's promised improved tread life over the 2's and have delivered. On a 2 I would get 10-11K max, loaded or not. So far with the 3's I have yet to replace one at less than 12K and one went over 13K. The 3's have better feel in corners. Off road they are no worse than the 2's. Over all a superior tire and worth the couple of extra bucks in the long run.

5500 miles on Anakee 3 rear

From MN to the west coast and back, it worked great. I'd rate it an improved version of the Anakee tires from Michelin. Wear looks just fine, GS 1200, with camping gear.

Great Tire

Put on a pair of these new before my epic journey from San Francisco through Canada to Michigan and back again. Covered 7000 miles on everything from logging roads to main highways and these did well on all surfaces. Dodged the flooding in both Calgary and Denver during the trip but got a bit wet, even with a 50 mile an hour side wind and pouring rain they stuck to the road well. Will get another pair.

Seems stable, and promises long life

Only a thousand miles on my new rear Anakee III (R1200GS), but so far I'm pretty happy with it. I do twisties sport riding exclusively, and my last rear tire, Michelin Pilot Road Trail, was down to the wear bars at 3200 miles; the Anakee shows virtually no wear at 1K. Mo' bettah. And I rated Wet Traction a 3 just because you have to choose something; haven't ridden in the wet yet.

Anakee #3.

Great tire. This tire has a little more vibration than the Anakee #2. Hoping that the front will not cup as quickly as they are advertised. All around great tire.

LOUD!!!

Just installed on my 1200GSA, front and rear. Spent 1 day out riding. Seem to handle very well. Done some twisties. Corner good. Extremely loud! Especially around 60 mph. Can't stand the noise. Will probably go with something different when they wear out.
