Just put 1000 miles on my second set of AVON Trailriders, AV53/AV54. The first set did not see the "trail" and were great on pavement with my Ducati Multistrada 1100S. Not so good for canyon riding as the sides wore out fast and only got 2000 miles with alot of center tread left. However, the second set, which did see the trail, approximately 40 miles and another 1100 miles pavement didn't do so well. My front wheel developed a symptom as though I had a bent wheel at low speeds and disappearing at 45mph+. I put the wheel on a balancer to check the wheel run outs only to find that there was a large surface bulge on one side of the tire tread, and inside you could see where there was a valley. Relieved it was the tire and not my wheel. But sadly, the TrailRider might not be the best answer for the Multistrada on trails? Hoping there is a warranty, as these were only put on less than 60 days ago!
These have been awesome. I've got 9600 miles on them in mixed on and off road use on a 2016 Ducati Multistrada. The rear tire squared off a bit at about 9300 miles. I've ridden these hard and about 1/3 of the mileage being two-up riding with full panniers. They work very well in the wet, even in colder temps. I think I'll get another 1500 miles or so out of the front.
Both front and rear seem to be a excellent tire. I haven't had the tires long enough to rate the tire life. The cornering is jjust as good as Anakee 2. The only down side tomthese tires are the noise. The mid range from about 30 to 60 is quite loud, doesn't have any vibration. Looking forward to evaluate the mileage. Great dualsport tire.
I used a AC10 last year for LABV 2015, switched to a Scorpion for this year's ... much better traction in the sand and dirt. It gets a little wobbly at fwy speeds, but this tire is made for off road... and occasional streets... Your best off having a set of these for off road and switch to the AC10 for streets... its thats your main riding....
Great tire... will buy again.
this tire wears fairly well, comparable to most tires of this type but for a lot less money. I use this for truly 50/50 riding and have gotten over 3000 miles on the rear tire. The performance during the wear of this tire remains very consistent.
I've been running Shinko 700s on my KLR for years now. I ride about 70/30 street/dirt, and this tire gets the job done. It handles great on the highway, corners well, and even handles rain well. Offroad, it's no mud tire obviously, but it handles just about anything else. Just air it down a bit. I get about 3 to 4,000 miles out of a rear tire. For the price, this tire can't be beat!
