    METZELER TOURANCE FRONT TIRE

With 95k miles currently showing on my R1200GS, I've run quite a few sets of Tourances, and I have always been pleased with the handling, traction, and tire wear. I don't think they lose anything to the newer dual compound tires.

    Happy with the Tourance

Bought a rear version about 1,000 miles ago and was so impressed that I decided to add the front even though the original VStrom DL1000 tire was OK. Now the bike performs great with the new matched set. I'll have to update when these wear out to see how many miles my 'Strom can get out of them.

    Great

I have been using Tourances for 12 years now. Most impressive tire in dry and wet. They are expensive and don't last that long BUT their softness = excellent grip!

    Great 80-20

Returned from Death Valley and Mohave Preserve trip. Ran TKC front and the Tourance rear. Got back home after 3600 miles and the Tourance barely shows any sign of wear. Great in the wet on interstate and dry slab as well. Run 42 loaded and 25 aired down. Will buy again.. Looking at the new Metzeler Karoo 3 for a compromise between the TKC and Tourance.. way to go Metzeler!!

    12k miles

I had the Michelin Anakee II on the front for my last set. It turns out that the Anakee has severe cupping starting around 6000-7000 miles. The Tourance started cupping around 11,000 miles and I changed it out when I changed out the rear at 12,000 miles. It could have gone another 2000-3000 miles but I was heading out on a long trip on the GS and wanted to get a new set. Excellent Grip. Excellent Handling. Good on dirt. Great lasting tread. No road noise on straights or turns.

    Great street tires

Got these put onto my cafe'd Bonneville after hearing rave reviews about them on the forums. I'd been running Pirelli Sport Demons for a while, but the mileage for those wasn't great. With the Tourances, I've had just as much grip, but at 4k miles the rear is just *starting* to square off, where the Pirelli would be due for changing. I can't really speak to the off-road capabilities, but I can tell you that you'll still be able to drag a toe in the twisties with them!

    Metzler Tourance

I am very happy with the Metzler Tourance on my R1200GS. I like to explore a bit and where I live that means gravel/dirt roads and fire trails are typical. While I'm sure knobbies would be better off pavement, the reality is I still put on over 10,000 miles a year on the street and the Tourance performs well there and hasn't gotten me in trouble off road yet, but I'm not an aggressive off road rider ... on the pavement, well, maybe a little!

After getting tube type tires by mistake, I couldn't be more pleased with the Tourance front and back for my 1988 R100GS.

By far my favorite tires for the GSA. A great 90-10 tire with above average durability.

    Good tire in the rain.

These always maintain good stick in cold and rain on my weestrom. I tried another tire (Bridgestone) and noticed the difference. I'm sticking with Metzelers both on my Suzuki and my BMW. The soft compound wears a little faster but the trade off is worth it.

I've used these on two bikes -- a BMW F650 and an Aprilia Capo Nord. They are excellent in the wet and confidence-inspiring in the twisties. Nothing bad to say about 'em!
