Metzeler Tourance Front Tire

These tires are great for adventure touring. Besides the original Bridgestones it came with this is the only tire I've ran on my VStrom 1000 for the last 60K. I've ridden in nearly every road condition imaginable with no complaints. Excellent twisty road handling both hot, cold, and rain. Excellent wear. I normally get around 11,000 miles (front). The tire is adequate for dirt roads or gravel, but steer away from any "real" off roading. I usually run the tire pressure around 42psi. This seems to do very well.

Get Em' While they last~!

This version of the Tourance is rumored to be getting the ax soon. The newer EX? version does include steel radials, but the tread has been changed to an even MORE street oriented pattern. I took this tire immediately out into the mud with my heavy R100GS and found it to work great, on the road it is a dream...

Metzeler Tourance

I have used Metzeler Tourances since I bought my '05 GS and I am very happy with them. They give great mileage and do very good in all weather conditions. They do fair in off road conditions but they are not an aggressive tire!

better milage

On my second front and 4th rear, two flats in a row after only 300 miles, These tires are grippy and I get much better mileage from them. I'll keep putting them on my Suzuki V-Strom.

Great tire

For the GS1150 this is the tire, unless you are running knobbies. Great traction, life, stickiness in the rain, and works fine on gravel.

Tourance

So far, Tourances have worked well for me. The best compromise for my R1150gs that I have used.

Tourances for my GS

I average 12 - 14K per year on my '01 1150 GS. Ninety-nine percent of that is on blacktop. I've used Tourances for the better part of 60K miles on the bike and have enjoyed good handling in wet or dry and the added option of being able to do fire-trail type riding if I so choose. Motorcycle Superstore's GREAT pricing (with free S&H) is the icing on the cake.

TKC for front tire in 50/50 dirt slab

Rode to Baja and back. Wanted a front tire a bit more aggressive that the Tourance, I kept Tourance on rear. The TKC is still on the bike after 5k miles and looking great, was perfect for the Baja trip. It pulled outta ruts, floated sand, and on gravel kept me going, would pull nicely outta ruts of gravel when needed with no skidding. I'll switch back to Tourance all around later this summer, but for upcoming Alaska trip will do the duo of TKC front, Tourance rear! perfecto!

Metzeler Tourance Front Tire

I've used these on two bikes -- a BMW F650 and an Aprilia Capo Nord. They are excellent in the wet and confidence-inspiring in the twisties. Nothing bad to say about 'em!

Good tire in the rain.

These always maintain good stick in cold and rain on my weestrom. I tried another tire (Bridgestone) and noticed the difference. I'm sticking with Metzelers both on my Suzuki and my BMW. The soft compound wears a little faster but the trade off is worth it.

Great Tires

After getting tube type tires by mistake, I couldn't be more pleased with the Tourance front and back for my 1988 R100GS.

Metzler Tourance

I am very happy with the Metzler Tourance on my R1200GS. I like to explore a bit and where I live that means gravel/dirt roads and fire trails are typical. While I'm sure knobbies would be better off pavement, the reality is I still put on over 10,000 miles a year on the street and the Tourance performs well there and hasn't gotten me in trouble off road yet, but I'm not an aggressive off road rider ... on the pavement, well, maybe a little!
