Icon 1000 El Bajo Boots

A brother of the Icon 1000 Elsinore, the El Bajo grew up with a different purpose in life. Using its shorter stature to its advantage, the natural calling was in displaying flexibility and agility. And yet, with its buckle closure, reinforced toe and heel and premium leather, the El Bajo is every bit the tough riding boot. Like a dust storm engulfing the cityscape, this Icon boot takes on any motorcycle task with the style to overwhelm all in its way.

Great boot

I have yet to ride with these but I wear them once in awhile. I went with a 9 I usually wear 9.5 The fit tight and I am sure they will loosen up after wearing them and they will feel great. Overall I am very happy with these boots for what they are. A stylist boot to wear anytime and also has a purpose when it comes to riding and protect your foot. Pros: Gret feel, look, and wearing around just walking is comfortable. Tread and grip are nice and shifting should be easy. I have only had these for a month so I do not know how long they will last. I am pretty hard on boots as I wear these even when I don't ride. Cons: the fit at the top of the boot is sort of loose around my ankle and there is no way to adjust this. I can see in any bad wreck this boot flying through the air off my foot. I can without to much difficulty pull the boot off my foot without unzipping or unbuckling it... If the top of the boot were adjustable or fit tighter around my ankle i would give 5 stars all day. I'm 5'9" 160 lbs wear 9.5 tennis shoes

Great boots!

Ordering shoes online always seem to be a challenge. Recently I was at a local shoe store an I measured my foot with the old trusty measuring gadget we grew up with, I was an 8 1/2. After reading the specs for El Bajo stating the boot was made on the American standard I orders my exact size 8.5 . The boots were very stif at first as I expected from all the reviews. I wore the boots for an hour or two to start with for 4 or 5 days walking in them to run errands an do work around my house , not yet riding my bike yet. This alowed them to break in much better, before I used them to ride with. Now they feel great , I love these boots an I have a lot of people comment on them . Price is well suited for the quality of this product. I would recommend them highly!

Boots were well received

I bought these boots for my husband for Christmas only because he forwarded them to me from Amazon. He seems to like them. I was disappointed in the packaging. The boot box was all beat up - the shipping box was in excellent shape. I was kind of worried about the boots after I saw the box they came in but they seem to be fine. Seems like he commented that it was too bad he didn't get any El Bajo stickers. (yes, he's a grown man!)

Great Look, Fit not so much.

I originally ordered these as an everyday riding boot to wear to work, etc. I wanted something with motorcycle specific protection that I could wear all day on those days that I rode to work or when street riding. I really like the look of the Elsinore boots, so thought these would be a little more practical. When trying this on at home, I just could not get the buckles adjusted right. They have 3 holes, but the design is really tailored to only use the middle one. I needed to tighten these up to the inner hole to even get close to fitting correctly however it was nearly impossible to do so. On one of them, I really couldn't get the leather to even stretch to hit the inner hole. Unfortunately I had to send these back. I like the look, but fit/function didn't work for me.

Awesome boots

I bought these to wear in hotter weather as an option to my water proof adventure boots. Boots fit pretty true to size. I'm normally a 10 and these fit great in a 10. A bit roomy rather than snug, which helps keep the feet cooler. They are stiff, but break in quick. I put insoles in them and they are comfortable enough to walk around in. Bear in mind they are riding boots. Not running shoes. So yes, they're somewhat stiff and bulky, but thats due to being made more for protection. I was skeptical that the brown color was too light, but in reality the color is quite a bit darker than the pix which I like. They have more of a bulky, hiking boot style, well suited for adventure bikes or maybe big cruisers. I think I would go a different direction if riding a sport bike. The straps don't do much to adjust the fit of the boots, but I don't feel the need anyway as the fit is right on. Undoing the top buckle makes it easier to get them on and off.

No, no, no!

Well over priced, huge looking and not comortable. Stiff like made of wood. Look way better on pics than in real life.

Tough Boots

I purchased these last month but just started to wear them 2 weeks ago. They were stiff and a bit of a struggle to get on at first. My foot size is 10.5 EEE. I ordered size 11.5. After wearing them 2 or 3 days they became easier to put on and were not as snug fitting. The style is different. I buy a lot of ICON. They speak my language when it comes to motorcycle gear. You won't go wrong here and you will look good and your feet be well protected for a long time.

Disappointed

Received these boots very quickly. This is my second boot style from Motorcycle Superstore that had a very poor fit. These boots are very, very stiff and took advice to order 1/2 size down. Should have been a 1/2 size up! Although they have nice features they are very heavy. Not sure if the toe would even fit under the shifter. Would not recommend these boots to anyone.

outstanding boots

I purchased the boots in February of 2014 and I have used them almost exclusively when on the bike. The boot is very stiff so it will take a while to break in. The finish is outstanding and the fit is great. I purchased the same size boot as my sneaker size. Most people think it's a regular boot- get complimented all the time. I use my bike to go back and forth to work and I've taken the boots on several trips to Daytona bike week and Biketoberfest and the boots performed great.

Good boots

Great boots, very nice fit and finish. A little expensive, but very nice. Followed advice of other reviewers and purchased half-size down.

Good boot

This boot does run a little large, go down a 1/2 size at least. Good boot, very stiff, hopefully they'll break in nicely.

Good for Wider Feet

I normally wear a 13 EEE and another reviewer's comment about the boots being too big made me opt to outlay the considerable cost for these. Although they were a bit tight in the width at first, a little break-in appears to have fixed that. I find the buckle adjustments to be adequate. I wanted some good, easy on/off boots. These fit the bill. Only complaint is the toe shifter protection overlay needs to be closer to the toe. Other than that, great boots and worth the price.

Too big

I bought these boots and when I got them they weren't really a great fit. I fit a 14 normally and these are a bit too big, I suppose they will fit better with a big pair of socks on. Great boots though and great look.

Somewhat disappointed

I love the looks of these boots, but I'm little disappointed in how they fit. The buckles on the side are cool, but they don't really allow for a custom fit. I find that they are either too tight or too loose. A ratchet-type buckle would be much more appropriate and practical. In hindsight, I'm not sure I can really justify the price tag based on how they fit.
