AWESOME - NEED I SAY MORE?

I run this tire on the rear of my 2006 and 2011 yz250f. track, trail, rocky creek beds, asphalt... nothing seems to stop it ! I originally bought one for the rear of my XR285R. I noticed in the first 2 months little to almost NO wear, and I ride the wheels off my bikes. Liked it so much I bought them for the YZ's. You will not find a longer lasting better performing tire for the money as far as I'm concerned. And the staff is so pleasant and easy to deal with. Thanks Motorcycle-Superstore!

Great tire

The tire itself was a pain in the butt to get on, granite I used all hand tools!! But living and riding in Arizona this tire does very well for the trail and desert riding I do!! Highly recommend this tire for purchase.

AZ Desert Tire

Great tire for off road riding in AZ. I've tried a few different brands and styles of rear tire, and this one by far outlasts them all.

Ripper!

You need a warning label on the back fender of your bike when you mount this tire...should read "Beware of flying rocks!" First one lasted about 1500 miles through rocks, ruts, sand, bushes, trees, scorpions, tarantulas and you name it! This tire hooks up and rips it good. Solid construction. Great desert tire and great in the mountains of Mammoth, Tahoe, etc. Mount one and spray your buds with whatever terra-firma you're riding on!

Last a long time

Awesome desert tire. I went to this after using a D606, WOW, this hooks up in southern AZ much better than the D606! I got around 1100 miles out of it, but rode another 200 after that on pavement which completely finished it off, so total 1300. My riding style is hard, beat the crap out of my bike every time I go out and ride. ;) I rode probably 900 miles on fire roads and open desert, and about 200 pavement. It hooks up nicely on pavement, but flattens out the knob is very fast.

maxxcross desert it tire

I am on my 2nd rear tire & am running one on the front also. New England trail riding has a great variety of mud, rock, ledge, shale & steep mountain terrain. The Maxxis desert tire performs better than most other brands but it lasts twice as long! I get two seasons of riding an my DRZ400. I would highly recommend this tire for performance & long wear, only tire I will ever use.

Good desert tire...

Just did 140 miles desert on it. Lot's of sharp rocks. No chunking. Only slight wear on leading edge of knobbies. This held up to desert with intense heat and lots of sharp rocks better than any tire I've used before. Have this mounted to a KTM XCW 300. Good grip on front and lets you get more aggressive in the loose sandy stuff. Rear hooks-up well. Only a little squirming on rear tire due to tall knobbies.

This tire bites back!

Put one of these on the back of my RM250 two seasons ago. Still in good shape but due for replacement. The previous tire I installed lost 3 knobs on my first ride. We have a lot of rock and some pretty sharp edges. Like other opinions this is the best tire for these conditions.

Maxxis MaxxCross Desert-IT M7305D Rear Tire

I ride a 2011 KX250F and run 12 psi in my tires. The factory Bridgestone M404 fell apart after a couple hundred miles in the rocks that I normally ride. The Maxxis showed very little wear in the same amount of time on the same trails with some street use as well. Great tire for rocky hard stuff.

Long lasting, but not the best for traction

Most people buy these because they last forever, but there are desert tires out there that can outperform these regarding traction (like the Parker DT). I think that the knob spacing is a little too tight if you spend lots of your time in nasty sand washes. These will chunk knobs off if you run your pressure too high, but in general, they last very long.

This Monster rips.....

Did the Pirelli MT21 and the Dunlop 606 thing for my DRZ 400...Meh. My friend talked me into running this all-dirt tire for my D/S. This this 120/100/18 really is all that everyone here has been saying (The roost this thing slings, all my friends hate me). A bit buzzy on the street as you'd expect. But man! What a tire!!

Just my opinion of course. This tire is awesome, wears excellent. Great for rocky/sand conditions. First maxxis tire I’ve ever used. gonna be hard to switch to anything else now.

In rocky conditions and gravel/dirt roads it's the best! A 310 mile 80MPH run in 103 degree heat chunked the center lugs but it would have chunked any knobby.

Maxxis - MaxxCross Desert-IT M7305D Rear Tire

Love it....tracks great, hooks up, shows no wear after beating it in the high desert......I use a extra heavy duty tube, it was harder than normal getting the tire mounted due to it's extremely stiff sidewall....But The Performance far outweighs the pinched fingers...and I was using a tire machine.......GREAT TIRE BUY ONE......If you ride the Rocky Hard Stuff...
