Keep in mind that my vehicle is a little outside of the norm: I drive a 1998 Twike Active. What's a Twike you say? It's a fully-enclosed (rag-top) three-wheel electric moped. The manufacturer-spec'd tyres are unavailable in the US and would cost about US$500 to import. However they can be run at 80psi, whereas these have about a 40 psi max. Motorcycle Superstore shipped a new set of 3 plus tubs for under $100. This is my second set (about 10k miles on the previous set), and I never had a problem/puncture/flat with the previous tyres/tubes, and I work on campus at the University of Illinois and there is ALWAYS construction and crap to drive through. The Rating is based on a Twike driver's experience -- the cornering is to be expected -- there's nearly 800+ pounds being placed on the outside tyre when cornering (between the vehicle weight and rider(s). I don't think any pnematic tyre of that size would corner well (without the mushy feeling/swimming a bit through a 90-degree turn at 19-22 mph) as well as having a comfortable ride -- I think you'd have to have a Tweel to do that.
