I like the style, color, it is a trifle big for me (overall size, not head size), but the redeeming feature is the snap for the chin strap that keeps it from beating me to death in the wind.

Sized like no other
I wear a large in most other helmets but read that these tended to run big so I ordered the medium. But even that was TOO big! Had to exchange for the small which fits well so do believe the reviews that say these run big compared to others. Exchange through Motorcycle Superstore was a snap, great service.

Couldn't believe how nice this helmet is!! Looks as good as an expensive one! The fit was fine but really go by the chart because I needed an XX small and had I gotten a larger size, I would have been in trouble. I think Z1R makes very good helmets. I have two Z1R FF helmets and two Z1R HF helmets. Can't beat'um for the price, so I won't worry as much if I ever damage or lose one.

I bought matching helmets for me and my wife. She is particular on what she wears and this helmet passes the test with flying colors. Secure with a great fit (use the fit guide) and allows ample all around vision to keep your "situational awareness" at comfortable levels. The removable ear/neck curtain feature is very easy to zip on or off and allows you to change it to match your riding conditions.

Z1R-Drifter Helmet
I did not know that the visor is included with the order. I ordered a visor separately, so now I have an extra one. My size measurement was in between a small and a medium and went with a medium. I probably should have gone with the small. The medium fits a little loose but is okay. I ordered a second helmet, this time a small for my wife and it fits allot better. Overall I am very satisfied with the on-time shipping and overall good business.

Sometimes when you shop on line, they will blow items out of proportion wanting to make the sell. But this item is right on the money. Not only great looking, but very practical and you just get the feeling of safety when this is worn. It fits securely and the sizing chart is right on the money. Why spend a lot of money on another brand when this one is just as good if not better. And working with M/S Super Store is always good; they back their products 100%.

Z1R Drifter Helmet OK
For the price paid you get an excellent helmet, why pay more? I'm an XL size and at first the helmet would sit on top of my head and would bend the top of my ears, rather unsettling at first, but as the shell is broken in the whole lid will slide onto the head as well as the ears. For summer cruising it's great. For long trips, I'm getting a flip up though.

Good product for the money
This helmet compares very well to others going for $100 or more. The only criticism I have is that the fit was perfect new, but has settled and loosened considerably since using for a month. I have had to place foam strips to return fit. So if you order this model and your head size is a close call between sizes, drop back to the small size.

Could be worse!
I bought this helmet to use it in city riding and during summer since it is pretty hot here in the East Bay in California. I was disappointed to find out that this helmet sold as a new 2008 model but was actually made in 2005 (per the tag inside the helmet under the liner). But I decided to keep it, considering the pain of returning it and I need it anyway. The finish (black mat) is not very resistant and gets scratched easily. I already got a few, although I am careful. Also my model is an X Small but still a little loose. I guess my head is too small.

Head But...
Very happy with the style and looks of the Z1R helmet. I can't imagine feeling any more protected wearing another helmet this style costing much more. For me, the fit is properly snug and comfortable... with a short hair-cut.

What can I say? I disagree with the other reviewer here saying it doesn’t give you the astronaut look. It does for sure and is not as low profile helmet as it looks in pictures. If you want that, find a cyber u-69 helmet. THAT is an awesome helmet and sleek looking. I returned this for a refund, sure it’s comfortable but not a nice looking lid IMO and it’s not like I have a very small melon either. Before you go saying function over form keep in mind there are other helmets that can do just as well but look better.

This helmet fits true to size and is really comfortable. Nice weight and good vision all around. Got the white one and it looks a little like a cop with the dark goggles. Would buy this one again.

Love it!
Well worth every penny. This will be perfect in warm riding weather! Great matte finish and not "over the top", which is perfect for me. I don't like anything that's too flashy. This is subtle and still will keep my head in one piece, the way I like it!!

ZR1 half-helmet
I liked the flat black finish. The shield is see-through which I haven't decided yet if I like. The vent holes are in front (my old helmet had them further up the helmet). I think these work better. One small feature that I like is the tiny plastic snap on the end of the strap. It keeps the strap from flapping in the wind, but I also snap it to use the strap as a carry-handle when I go in the store etc. I did not like the fine toothed zipper on the neck curtain (not sure if it will last). Overall this helmet fits great, has less noise than my old HJC one and is lighter. I like it. Great price too!

It was all of everything I wanted in a shorter helmet. Unfortunately, the snaps were not all finished correctly. I had to buy a tool and package of snaps to complete the assembly job that the factory should have finished.

In my search for a better-looking, higher-quality shorty helmet, I found this great Drifter. The longer sun visor appealed to me for those early AM or late PM rides into the sun. The neck curtain allows for riding in cooler temps and removable when it warms up. Too bad the quality control at manufacture missed getting one of the visor-to-helmet snaps actually finished. Cost me about $20 for a package of snaps and a quality tool to "finish the job." Still, the helmet is a "keeper".

If your grape size is near the cutoff, go with the smaller helmet. I initially ordered a medium but soon returned it for a small. Otherwise, no complaints-the helmet is comfortable, good looking and affordable.
