Shoei Multitec very good, but not perfect.
Coming from a Shoei X-11 with excellent ventilation, I was concerned about the Multitec. Unfortunately, my concerns were justified. There are plenty of inlets, but only 1 exhaust, and it doesn't do the job. My guess is its in an area of turbulent flow at the nape of the neck, and needs to be moved to an area of low (relatively) pressure to help pull air through the helmet. I've kept the helmet, and plan to live with the poor ventilation so I can wear my glasses. While I'm not Mr. Magoo, I need my glasses to read street signs, and my X-11 doesn't allow me to put the glasses on. While the Multitec doesn't make it easy to don glasses, it does make it possible. I should also mention that I sweat while many others are complaining of being cold. Still, after the excellent X-11, I hoped for better.

AWESOME
This is the KING of multi function helmets. I own an X-11 Shoei and I wear this one almost 100% of the time .I ride a street legal dual sport OFF road and map roads all over my state and take a lot of pictures and this is the total ticket. Get a pin shield setup to reduce condensation inside the shield and you will be on easy street with a well made helmet. The only thing worse than a cheap helmet is no helmet at all. Ride a helmet and save a life...YOURS.

You get what you pay for
Searching for the right modular helmet sounds easier than it actually is. There are plenty to choose from but for fit and quality, Shoei wins hands down. Extremely comfortable, lightweight and quiet and the finish and quality of workmanship is superior to all others I tried (6 in total). A sun visor would be nice but Shoei is worth the squint.

I'm lovin' it!
This is possibly the very best helmet I've ever had. That's saying a lot as I have owned close to a dozen. I love it. The fit is perfect. It matches my Ducati ST4s EXACTLY! I love the modular aspect of it. A bit pricey for my budget but I believe it was worth every penny!

Quality and comfort
If you have a $50 head, buy a $50 helmet. Otherwise, splurge for something quality like this Shoei. This is one of the best tested impact protection helmets out there, and the flip up feature makes it easy to wear with glasses, easy to eat snacks when road-tripping, and convenient for those hot summer days. The only downsides? Noise and price. It's a quiet helmet, but not as quiet as my full face due to the hinges. Shoei is also not inexpensive, but hey, my head's worth it...is yours?

Great helmet!! Well made quality construction and light weight. Excellent fit with positive locking feature of the front face. Outstanding ventilation!! Looks great and would by a second one for myself since my girlfriend is enjoying this one.

The weight of the helmet was a surprise. When the box arrived I thought you had shipped items separately, but my helmet was in the box as well.

Nice helmet!
I am between a large and xl so it is just a little big but I have found large helmets too tight. Very nice quality and finish. Was a little apprehensive about spending this much for a helmet but I am glad I took the plunge!

Shoei - Multitec Modular Helmet
This is my 4th Shoei helmet in 20 years. Yes, they're expensive but it is your noggin you're talking about. This fits well and the flip open device is pretty slick. You get what you pay for...

Wind noise seemed excessive when above 55 mph, but a set of earplugs or headphones makes this tolerable. The vents are literally useless. It’s hard to imagine that years of helmet technology still hasn't produced a decent vent system that delivers enough air to cool your face and head. The holes are too small, the top air intakes point up instead of forward, and the air channels inside the helmet allow your hair to fill the channels and block all the air. Unless you're bald and riding in the Superman position, this helmet isn't the best choice on hot days. For the price, I didn't expect either of these issues.

The best for the best
I bought a cheap modular helmet for my wife and she complained of the fit and weight of it. I knew there was only one solution so I bought her the best. She really loves it. The thin J&M speakers fit well in it.

New Multitec arrived one day after a new KBC. Two different classes of helmet. Shoei fits just slightly larger then measurement on my round head. Interior is excellent quality, in feel and manufacture, plenty of chin/nose room. The only item that is not up to standard is the small lever to "pop" the visor to a pre-set opening for fog/breath abatement. This small lever is hard to feel in gloves and very stiff to operate, can't see it lasting the summer. One comment from another customer on this site said it was noisey?? The visor is so adjustable you can stop all wind noise around the seal. Read the manual! You can pull it up so tight that it won't open, if you want. Last, too expensive... yeah yeah it's your skull.

Shoei - Multitec Helmet
This is my 1st street bike helmet and I did a lot of research prior to buying this one. Many colors to pick from and I was able to closely match the bike color. There are many vents to control your comfort level. I have a sense of security regarding the safety aspect that I hope I never have to find out, but it's as good as anything I looked at. A little pricey, but well worth the bucks. I bought a Spectra Gold "veezer" that makes the helmet look a bit Star Wars and I like the look. The Spectra coating while it works super in shielding out bright light is not very durable. I have to replace my shield since I managed to scratch (gouge) it somehow. All in all a great product.

Shoei - Multitec Modular Helmet
Very nice helmet, well made, comfortable and the noise level is decent for a modular. I ride a cruiser so I only use it for extended freeway riding and cold weather. I have not worn it on a hot day yet, but I expect it to be pretty warm. Pricey, but this helmet does appear to be very durable.

Best Helmet I've ever owned....
It’s awesome I love it. It is light weight and comfortable. The extra chin piece that comes with the helmet keeps the air from entering from underneath the helmet. It’s the best helmet I’ve ever owned, highly recommend it.

Decent helmet, surprised it doesn't have better air circulation. Put the anti fog face mask/insert on and still have a small problem with condensation.

nice helmet
I was using a Shoei X-11 and switched to this one for days when I ride with other people. Bottom line is it is a nice helmet that isn't especially noisy. It is much draftier than the X-11 though. Great for reducing fog but certainly lets in the cold. I find that I feel more secure in the X-11 and usually choose it if I'm riding alone, but the multitec is certainly a great helmet in its own way.

My favorite!
I'm used many different helmets and I have to say this one is the best. It does everything I need plus its super comfortable! I've tried all kinds of brands and the Shoei (for me) is by far the best brand!!!

This is a very nice helmet, the air vents are great keeps your head cool. Color is very nice. This is a little pricey and I hit it on something and it chipped and it was not even hard. But nice overall.

first shoei, not SUPER impressed
Second helmet ever, it fits great. I now know what a helmet should fit like. Problem is, wind noise, The visor doesn't seem to lay flush with the helmet and high pitched wind noise can be heard at low speeds. Also the air flow is on whether the vents are open or closed. chin attachment greatly decreases wind noise, but helmet is noticeably hotter to wear.

This helmet was great for me in all areas but one. It fit fine around my head but my chin ended up pressed against the visor, very annoying. If you have a big chin you might want to try before you buy.

Shoei-Multitec Modular Helmet
This helmet is comfortable, user friendly, and I would recommend it. The only thing lacking would be a pull down sun shield. That being the case though, if I thought I really needed one of those, I would have bought a different helmet. You really don't know HOW good a helmet is though, until you crash. So, that being the case, I hope this thing will stand up to real punishment if and when, that time ever came. I have faith in it though. Sure looks cool! Have fun, Ride, and Stay Alive!

Thanks Shoei
I bought this helmet to fit over my prescription glasses, and it does that perfectly. My standard helmet hurt when I wore my glasses. This does what it's meant to do, that is make flipping the face up easy, and the air vents REALLY come in handy on a hot day. Real quality all the way around!

Great helmet
This is a great helmet. Both my husband (wine:med.) and I (white:XS)ordered one. Fit is perfect. We love the advantages this modular has to offer. It stays locked in the open position. We can stop & talk to each other, eat or drink without having to take off the helmets. Great vent system. Helmets stayed cool on the hottest/humid days. I really like that XS comes with an XS shell. It's not an XL shell w/additional padding to made it fit an XS head...like other brands (one shell fits all). Pricey, but you're paying for quality & features mentioned above.

Finally Bought a Shoei
I have tried many helmets trying to find the best low cost modular (flip) helmet (since I wear glasses). I have the Vega, Summit,Zeus and I realize after receiving the Shoei - You get what you pay for. No comparison on the fit, weight, operation, and finish. Of course the Shoei Multitec Modular costs about 2 to 3 times more than the cheaper helmets and they are adequate but if you want the most comfort for the long ride, get the Shoei. After all, it is only your head you are trying to protect. Wear a helmet and ride safe.

A wonderful Shoei helmet. I fill hot when my bike is at slow speeds or stop at traffic, but it be OK when picking up speed. The helmet is fit for my head. When speed over 80 km/h have noise. Overall I enjoy it.

Shoei - Multitec Modular Helmet
Upgraded from an HJC AC-11. The Shoei is lighter and has a much better fit. Also I went from a large to a medium size. I am sure this helped with the weight but the shell is also smaller. It fits in the saddlebags of my BMW R1200RT better and allows me to put additional items in the bag. The main reason I changed helmets was to have an easier time putting my glasses on after putting on the helmet. That is now a piece of cake. I no longer get the ear piece on the wrong side of my ear or have my ear getting pressed against the ear piece. I also wanted more room for my autocom speakers to fit in the helmet. I haven't installed them yet but it looks like I will have more room. The only negative is the wind noise.

Great Helmet!
I'd recommend this helmet to anyone. The fit is great. It does fog a bit on cool mornings but that is solved by slightly opening a visor. I'm very pleased with it.

Shoei Multitec Modular Helmet
The fit and finish of this helmet is apparent immediately. It's snug without being claustrophobic. The padding is exceptionally impressive...and having an eyeglasses stem channel cut into the foam is very, very smart! Side vision is very good, although I seem to have to turn my head a little more than with my old helmet to look behind me prior to changing lanes. The vents work very well. At first wearing, I was concerned that I'd be overheating in such a protective shell; it was not the case. The air intake system works so well that after a while you're not aware of it. The lower front air intake is especially good at reducing fogging. I learned to adjust the helmet so that I'm less likely to create lens fog. In motion, the lens clears right up. At a stop light, some fog may gather--so I just pop the lid a bit and it goes away. I would recommend this helmet to other riders without reservation and with great enthusiasm.

Shoei - Multitec Modular Helmet
Very nice helmet. Noisier than a non-modular helmet, but equal perceived noise levels with earplugs. Very easy to open and close with one hand on the go. I drink from a camelback on long trips and I can open the helmet enough to take a drink from the bite valve without impairing my vision. I am very satisfied overall.

Definitely superior in quality & workmanship, the fit could use some improvement as could it's durability, after a minor bump the screen hinge came undone requiring the purchase of a $19 part.

Helmet is top end. From the first ride I noticed the difference instantly. The helmet was far better then I had imagined. Easy on, easy off. Looks just like regular full face helmet, not oversized or bulky. I'd buy it all over again.

This is a fabulous helmet for the money. Comfort, protection and visibility are my needs. I ordered the yellow. Hardly any noise is an added attraction, plus being able to easily put my sunglasses into it. After riding it does not put stress on my neck and shoulder. I honestly can't think of anything negative for this helmet.

One Terrific Helmet
It's one of the quietest helmets I've ever worn. Wind cuts right past with almost no drift of buffeting. Shield fogging is minimal. The only feature I found wanting is an internal sun shade like the one in the Schuberth C2. Otherwise this is by far the best helmet I've ever worn and it's the one I find myself reaching for when going for a ride. Well done, Shoei!

Looks like a winner
I just received my light silver multitec. I feel compelled to write this review because the Multitec looks and feels first rate. The fit and finish are superb. It fit me right out of the box. I love the fact that I can use my CX-IV RF1000 shield on the multitec. The flip-open and close mechanism works very well and can be operated with just one hand. It seems very light especially compared to other modular helmets. Unfortunately, because of inclement weather, I haven't been able to take it out y
