Great fit, love the quality, and hard to beat for the price. Had the original SyMax and loved it. This one is quieter. Love the sun shield.

Great fit, easy to get on and off. The flip up worked easily but needed a little effort to get it to lock shut. The tinted visor, good latching mechanism easy to operate, quick release, thumb button broke off after 1 year. Straps - padding on the strap made them very comfortable. Ventilation – very good. Pads - come unsnapped when removing. No chin bar wind screen. Not quiet, have to wear ear plugs. Never used the Chatter Box option so can't comment on that.
Just not all that good

This is my second SY-Max helmet. Bought the SY-Max III in XL. Couldn't believe it, but needed an XXL. SY-Max helmets never match the measurement guide. At this price, there should be better fit-accuracy. Air flow? What air flow? And in the cold they fog up like crazy. Why do I buy SY-Max? Because of the flip-up feature and visor/sunshade. I like the way HJC makes that feature-set, but I wish the fit was better, and had better over-the-head airflow.

Bought this helmet for the features and its good looks. Sun visor is great, but unfortunately the overall helmet build quality is not good. The first item to fail was the chin retainer strap snap, right away. Went to remove the liner for cleaning and half of the snaps broke. Now the flip up retainer has broke all of the sudden and now the flip up will not stay up. Won't be buying another one.

Fit is great, the strap does seem a little too close to the neck but only noticeable if tightened hard. The design allows plenty of room around the ears which is good because you will want ear plugs. My biggest complaint would be the wind noise is real loud. I cant compare to other modular helmets but compared to hjc standard full face helmets it is much worse. Air flow is great along with the other features of this helmet. I would buy this again.
Helmet head perfect!

Expensive -- yes. Great fit -- yes. Ventilation -- off the chart. Sun shade -- exceptional.
I added an after market quick connect and solved everyone elses strap complaints. One of the better brain buckets out there.

The straps suck. Would prefer quick release. But besides that they are too close to the neck. Air flow is good at high speed. If you’re in traffic doing less than 40mph open the visor.

First modular thought I'd try one and didn't want to spend a lot. Choose the HJC because it has a fiberglass shell which to me is lighter and stronger than polycarb. Fits perfect comes with a pinloc sheild a must in Florida, wind noise but all modulars have wind noise it's a helmet not a hearing protector. Rides good at speed great air flow, good helmet at the $300.00 mark.

Wanted to see if I'd like a modular. I usually wear Shoei but didn't need to spend $600 picked the HJC because it has a fiberglass shell like Shoei. It makes them lighter and sronger then poly. Fits perfect, wind flow is good, pin lock sheild a must in Florida, and the sun shade is cool. Don't think I even need the Shoei now. People say it has wind noice but every modular I tried does I ride with plug or the Ipod anyway. Great modular for the buck.
