Light modular helmet
This helmet weighs no more than a conventional solid helmet. It is very easy to get in and out of. I purchased 2 of these. I put a tinted screen on one and use it for the motorcycle. I purchased the heated screen for the other and use it for the snowmobile. The only quam I have is with the side padding. It is a little snug in the cheek/ear areas.
There is a newer version out called the syn-max, but it is twice the price. I am not sure if the padding issue has been improved.

Excellent helmet.
This is a good starter helmet. It fits perfect as the size chart suggests. It's fairly comfortable for a full face helmet. The front opening is a real plus while stopped or putting on sunglasses. It makes it easier to talk to someone else without having to talk through the helmet.

CL-Max
This is the first flip up helmet I've owned and I really like the flip up feature. I can take the helmet on and off with sunglasses on. The one big issue I have with the helmet is the lack of air flow thru the so called vents. They really don't work very well. My older HJC CL-15 moves way more air thru the helmet than the CL-MAX does. Face shield is easy to remove and install. If you’re on a tight budget and want a flip up helmet I think the CL-MAX is a good option.

Very Nice Helmet
I have to say I like this helmet a lot. I ordered two XL and they fit me and my family well. The chin guard raises and lowers extremely easily with one hand. The face shield itself is harder to raise and lower. Changing face shield is rather easy. The shield pops off easy, but takes a little fiddling to get the new on. I think it was mostly because I could really see through the smoked shield to line up the catches correctly. The air flow could be more, but since I am in Okinawa and it's just so darn hot and humid, I’d probably sweat with no helmet at all. One of the air vent covers popped off a few times from one of the helmets, but it pops right back on. I tried wearing my Oakley MFrame sunglasses once, but the fit was way too tight with the helmet on. That may be because the helmet was brand new and not yet broken in, but again that's why I ordered a smoked face shield so I wouldn't really need sunglasses.

This is a great helmet, comfortable, great features, and at a super price. The staff at Motorcycle Superstore were so helpful. When I received my first helmet I had one of the top vents come off, one call to the staff at Motorcycle Superstore and I had a new helmet coming and they even paid for the return shipping of my first helmet. Again, both the helmet and the staff of Motorcycle Superstore are the best!

Helmet review
I love my new helmet. I didn't think I would like a modular at first since I'm clostrophobic but it doesn't bother me at all! I feel so safe and secure and can see clearly from the sides. I like the extra air flows. One of the vent covers broke off somehow so I need to get that replaced if possible. Price was average, more than I should have put into it, but then there are a lot more expensive for the same equipment. Size was true to fit.

Good buy!
I'm a first time rider so I wanted the maximum protection around my old noggin for the lowest money from a reliable helmet manufacturer. HJC was my answer. I was nervous purchasing a helmet online but their sizing chart helped allay some of those fears. Naturally I was so happy to find the helmet fit like a glove. The wind shield is super clear, no distortion and cleans easily. Chin bar latch operates smoothly allowing the flip-up modular helmet section to glide up and away. I appreciate the removable interior pads to ease cleaning. HJC parts should be easy to replace and I am considering buying a new wind shield later on. The helmet has its own soft tote bag so I hang it up when not in use. Very pleased with this purchase.

So far, so good
I bought this helmet in the dead of winter and haven't ridden with it yet. I usually wear a shorty because the old full-face I had felt so restrictive. This modular type is more versatile and doesn't make my head feel like it's hermetically sealed in a capsule (due to the additional room in the chin area). This helmet was a good deal - the quality is very good, fits well, and the price was right. It was delivered very quickly, and comes with a decent helmet bag.

HJC Cl Max review +++
Well the only negative thing I can say about this helmet is that it starts of a little tight, but loosens up (or rather, breaks in) fairly quickly. I have a 'mega dome' and finding helmets that fit it a challenge. It feels a little close to your chin when the face is down, but that goes away too (so maybe it just feels different than the last helmet). All in all for the paying less than $150 on a flip face helmet, I don't think I could be happier.

Nice helmet that seals very well around the face shield. Thick soft padding inside. Very nice helmet but not for me. I got the largest size (3X). It does not fit me well. It is made for a rounder head. I have a large long head and usually have to carve out the inside of a helmet to make it fit so I do not get headaches. This one takes a lot of carving and I think my chin will always touch the front.

Great helmet, great price
I haven't bought a new full-face helmet in at least 10 years; I don't wear a full-face very often because they feel so restrictive. But, wanting to be as safe as possible on long distance highway rides, I opted for a new modular style. I had the opportunity to try several brands of helmets at a recent motorcycle show, and the fit, weight, and features of this one were very good for this price range (and includes a light-weight helmet bag). MC Superstore gave me a great price and super-quick delivery.

Great all around Helmet
I brought this helmet as a replacement for a broken one. The helmet has a nice finish and color is nice. The flip up works great for Guarded Manned Posts. The helmet is noise is lower than other helmets I own. I wanted something for the Hot Texas days to come. This helmet will be used for city driving. Highway driving 65+ Mph you may experience the bobble head affect depending on the height of your windshield, and HIGH cross winds. I am happy with my purchase and would buy another. Size matching is good.

Good Helmet
checked out the local stores and satisfied myself that HJC was the one reasonably priced vendor with the extra sized modular helmets. I tried a 2X in a similar model and the fit was very close so I popped for the modular in a 2X size, which no store in the area had in stock. The modular design makes it easy to get on and off. The visor has a half open setting that meets the MD. State regulations for eye protection and still lets in a lot of cooling air at low speeds. Plenty of vents for comfort at higher speeds. Good fit that was comfortable for extended wear on a hot Summer day. Good delivery, good condition, delivered better than I had hoped for. Quite satisfied with the purchase.

Nice helmet
Helmet fits very well and looks great. The visor and chin bar both work very smoothly. I saved $20 @ MCS over the local cycle shop, plus no sales tax. This is my first street helmet, so I'm not sure about noise levels of other helmets, but it seems reasonable.

beautiful helmet
I just wore this on a ride for the first time...it wasn't a long ride but it was nice and cool (it was very humid out) with all those vents. They're adjustable so you can close them, which is great. The versatility of this helmet will make it well worth it. I purchased a silver finish which looks very nice. It comes with a nice bag that I'm sure will minimize scratches when I place it in my trunk. Overall a great buy. Follow the sizing chart and suggestions for a perfect fit!

Ok... So you make a Flip Up helmet that doesn't fit the speakers for a headset?
The helmet fit a little tight when I first got it but it stretched out after a while. I tried putting my headset in for my Goldwing but there is no place to put the speakers! When I had to use the cheek pads from the HJC flip up helmet that is too small for me so the speakers would fit.

Good helmet for the price
Been using this helmet for about a week - I like that I can put the chin bar up while riding at low speeds to cool off a little. Easy to flip it back down when getting on the highway.

This full face helmet has a very comfortable fit - snug enough without feeling tight or confining. The flip up feature is a little stiff and difficult to operate while riding; otherwise I am very satisfied with it.

Full face protection with lift up chin allows me to put helmet on while wearing my glasses. Feels comfortable while riding and allows me to wear helmet while stopped as I can lift chin to talk with my friends.

I have had this helmet for a month and have no problems to report. It fits well and I have taken this on a road trip to CA. It is a little louder than I expected. But all said it is a good helmet for the price and as usual MS and their shipping ROCKS. I will always order from MS as they are the best:)

Solid compromise
I wear prescription glasses and full-face helmet is a pain in the back-side to put on and take off with glasses, so I always rode with a 3/4 helmet. Then I saw the flip up lids. Nice compromise. I can leave my glasses on when puttin' the lid on and off. Visor is bigger than my old full-face so I have better peripheral vision too.

Very happy with the helmet. Fit is very good and the modular style suits me. You do not have to remove your glasses to put on the helmet which is good. It is somewhat hot during the heat of the summer.

This is my first helmet, so I really don’t have much to compare it to, other than the helmets from MSF. I like this helmet much more than those from MSF. For one thing, it was cleaner. Another thing is, the helmets from MSF felt like they were crushing my head... quite a tight squeeze. Anyway, my experience with this helmet has been good so far. The fit is comfortable. I don't really notice the wind too much... when I ride, I expect it to be noisy. Haven’t had the helmet too long, so I can't say much about durability. The visor does get fogged up, but it’s primarily when the bike is going really slow.

The helmet fit a little tight around the cheeks when I first tried it on, but within one day of riding, it is one of the most comfortable helmets I've worn. I especially like to be able to flip the face up when I need to talk or when I've stopped for a minute to cool off.

HJC Modular Helmet
Good price, comfy and doesn't weigh a lot on the head. Good things. So here are some of the things I don't like…
After some use now the flip up squeaks a little bit and it wants to drop down. When I'm crouched in super tuck mode on my sport bike you can see the top of the helmet and it obstructs my view partially, and the visor fogs up bad at night especially - in colder weather.

So far, this is working out to be an excellent helmet for the money—as have all the HJC helmets I’ve owned. It’s really comfortable, and the flip up front opens easily, which I love. I’m not as crazy about the ratchet on the visor, which is so stiff it feels (and sounds) like you’re going to break the thing off whenever you try to open it all the way. It does seem to be freeing up with use, though, as it’s already better than when it was brand new. Note: I needed one size larger on this model th

Nice helmet. I too wear glasses, and the flip up is much more compatible with eyeglass wear. The shield is a little difficult to open by itself, but the flip up makes up for it. Nice fit, comfortable & nice field of vision. My only complaint was that there were some scratches on the face shield when I got it. They were under the protective film, so it obviously came from the factory that way, and I didn't have time to return or exchange it.

I bought this helmet because I wear glasses, and I'm here to tell all of us 4 eyed riders that this is the helmet for us. It's extremely comfortable, and the flip up allows me to keep my glasses on all the time. I ride on I-95 a lot, and this lid is no more or less noisy than my Icon Mainframe. (Also a good buy) It has a wider field of vision, and it keeps my head cool in the Florida heat. Good buy.

First flip up helmet, very comfortable despite large skull! 7-5/8" hat size is a XL for me in this helmet. Vents work well considering the intense sunshine of Florida summers. Would prefer a velcro vs. a snap for the free running end of the chin strap. I wear earplugs and the helmet is pretty quiet. (hey, it is a motorcycle not a Lincoln Town Car)

Nice Helmet
I purchased this helmet after using an HJC AC-11 as a skid plate. This is a nicely designed helmet and I love the flip front. I find it much more user friendly since I wear glasses. The front flip area allows me to put on my glasses and seat them properly without having to reach through the smaller opening of a visor. I have noticed on two occasions a high pitch sound when there is wind coming from the side of the bike.

This helmet is great bang for the buck. Shape and fit is actually better than the older Symax design (for me). Only annoyance: the face shield with its new design is very difficult to open.
