Flip up helmet
This is my first flip up helmet. Naturally, it is not as study as a full face if you should take one on the chin. And if you cinch the strap down tight it tends to pull the cheeks in. The flip up release could be more robust. But the helmet is comfortable, reasonably quiet, and a bargain for a flip up helmet. If you wear glasses a flip up makes life a little easier and that's a good thing. A full face has some advantages, good to have both.

Great helmet for the price, I would recommend getting the next size bigger than the size chart suggests. I have had no trouble at all with the helmet. Looks and Works Great! The 4 air vents work fine. It also comes with a Clear Shield, Smoke Shield, Removable Chin Wind Guard, Helmet Bag & Pouch for extra visor. Well worth the price. Changing face shields are pretty simple, no tools involved but the next helmet I buy will have a retractable sun visor built in, "I think it is a lot easier than changing shields". I would Recommend this helmet to a friend. For the Price you get a lot for your money.

Fantastic helmet for the money. The only reason I didn't rate durability higher is because I returned the helmet for a larger size so I haven’t used it much. I had already taken the advice of others and ordered larger then my hat size. So now I am two sizes larger then recommended and could probably even go up another size. But I would still buy again. All the features work well and easily. The included extra shield and bags are a nice touch. Order larger then you expect and you will not be disappointed.

Nice helmet for the money
I have high cheek bones and wear glasses and was having trouble finding a modular helmet that wasn't too tight. I was about to break down and buy a Shoei Multitec. I just couldn't bring myself to spend that much money. I decided to gamble on this helmet sight unseen based on reviews that it fit rounder heads well and worked with glasses. I'm glad I did, because it's comfortable, high quality, and it's 1/3 the price of the Shoei. I've also gotten several compliments about the styling too. I often wear a medium helmet but needed a small in this model.

Very Pleased
The GMax is everything that was advertised. I have owned a few helmets and this one is better than the others, some that cost more. The only negative comment I heard from other reviews was a issue with the chin guard being difficult to operate, but I bought two and neither have this problem. Great helmet, regardless of the price. I gave a 3 to durability as I have not had the opportunity to test it in a crash, thank god.

YOU COULD SPEND MORE - A LOT MORE
One review that sticks out was the guy who said, well it's considerable more wind noise than my nolan, or bell. I can live w/ that. Anyway, this my first modular helmet, the chart is accurate as hell, it's very comfortable, a little lighter than most full face helmets. All the features work great. For the price, you can't beat it. helmet bag, two lenses,would buy it again.

Excellent fit and function. Don't have to remove eyeglasses to put on. Well ventilated, and no noisier than my other full face helmets. Flat black finish easy to care for. More chin room than my other high end helmets. Price can't be beat. Would buy again.

Satisfied with all but one thing
Was looking for a new modular and this one fit the bill. The price was competitive and I like the matte black design. The helmet lived up to its description. I am very satisfied with everything with one exception. The tab for opening the helmet does not always work. It is uneven in its function and can be frustrating.

Good Helmet Great Price
This helmet came in an XXXL at a very affordable price. Exterior noise is pretty high but I use plugs to cut down on that. The helmet looks great and I have received many compliments. You don't need to buy extra visors like I did. The helmet comes with two. One smoked, the other clear. They work great. Love it, love it.

Just got back from Myrtle Beach SC and wore the helmet the entire time. Fit great, was able to wear my regular glasses in comfort. A quick latch on the strap would make it faster and easier to latch and unlatch, but still the best helmet I have ever had.

I wear glasses and figured this would be the best type of helmet for me. This type of helmet offers superior protection and convenience. There is no need for me to remove my glasses to put the helmet on or take it off. The extra visor shield and storage bag, plus the storage bag for the helmet, is a nice touch. I gave this helmet high marks in all categories because there isn't anything that sticks out as unsatisfactory. I wanted a decent modular that fit well. I listened to the reviewers and went a size larger because my history has been large hats and stuff are just too small. The fit is good, snug, no slipping around, but not squeezing or pinching. Gotta like the modular. Good looking, I went flat black but might consider the gloss next time. Can't comment on the durability yet as I have it only a month. Appears well made. Good visibility, several vents. Good price. I'd buy it again.

For glasses...
I purchased this helmet because of the other reviews of riders who also wear eye glasses. I have no complaints about the helmet and it works great. I don't even have to remove my glasses to put the helmet on or take it off. The extra shield and covers are pluses and you can change the shield in a matter of seconds. You can't go wrong with this helmet. I usually wear a XL but I purchased a XXL and it fits.

This helmet offers the convenience of an open face helmet and the security/protection of a full face helmet. I am very pleased with the fit, but it does tend to get noisy on windy days or when I pick up the pace a bit. Additionally, sometimes the release mechanism catches when I try to open it when I not wearing it, but it is not problem when I am wearing it. Overall, I am very pleased with the helmet and am really glad I purchased it.

Perfect Helmet!
Since I wear glasses, this is the perfect helmet. I purchased one of the first BMW helmets that came out years ago and this helmet for the price is as good or better. It's comfortable and the dark shield is great on those sunny rides. Very good helmet for the money.

I bought this to replace a Hawk modular helmet that broke after 6 months of use, and I am most pleased with it. The fit is almost perfect, the quality is superb and the features amazing. It Is a bit noisy, but the ventilation system works well in Florida's 90 degree heat. Fit was right on, I ordered what the chart said and it's near perfect. If you are considering a cheaper helmet, you might be wise to look at the GM44, I highly recommend it. I have had no problem at all with the chin-piece release, it works very well. I wear glasses and this helmet works well with them.

Better than the rest!!!
I just received this helmet yesterday and let me tell you, it's the best helmet I have ever worn. I currently have an expensive AGV helmet and a cheap AFX back-up helmet and this GMax helmet blows both of them away on fitment alone.The look of it is also really nice and you can't beat the free tinted visor that also comes with its own bag to safely store it in. I highly recommend this helmet to anyone looking for a good fitting helmet without having to spend a fortune

GMAX GM44 - Great Helmet
After now purchasing 2 Gmax helmets I have to agree with their slogan that they are the "better fitting helmet". Initially I went with the cheaper KBC FFR Envy helmet, but sent it back the day I got it and ordered this one instead. It was a little more expensive, but as with all Gmaz helmets it comes with the smoke visor and construction is better over all. If you're torn between a slightly cheaper modular, I would definitely recommend spending the extra few bucks.
The only issue I've noticed (which has also been addressed in other reviews) is that the mechanism to open the face can stick when not on your head. However I have not had any issues opening it while on my head.

Great fitting helmet. I ordered one size larger than my normal hat size. Cheek pads are a little tight, but have been getting more comfortable the more I wear it. Fogging is a big problem. Visor can be raised one click to clear fogging. I will have to get the Fog City Pro Shield before next winter. Noise level is very acceptable to me. Great helmet for the money.

I bought this helmet because of the larger size and its modular design. If you are a person like me, who has a large head, and a large face, you may consider buying this helmet. I'm talking to all you guys and gals that have trouble buying sunglasses and ball caps because they often don't fit right. I often put this helmet on with the chin guard up as it's more comfortable and less cramped to do so. This helmet looks assembled well, and like a quality item right out of the box. It comes with a clear and a smoke visor, which is a bargain. The chin guard is easily raised, even with gloves on. If you are just running in to get gas, or need to take a quick drink, this is a fantastic feature. The helmet has 6 vents, though their cooling capacity is unknown to me, as it is not very warm yet here in Montana. I have had a bunch of fog on the visor, but I don't really blame the helmet because the morning temperatures are still in the 30's, and just about any helmet will fog in those conditions. Though it doesn't come in a lot of flashy colors or graphics, I am satisfied with this helmet. It fits my needs well, and may also be what you are looking for.

Great helmet
I had to give the helmet a 4 in finish due to how the face locks. When attempting to open the face section, the lock sticks until you press it against the housing. It isn't anything major, just annoying until you get used to it. I haven't noticed any more noise with this helmet than my last, a solid HJC that was a hand-me-down. Overall, great helmet.

Besides the fact that this helmet is everything you could ever want in a helmet and is dirt cheap for what you're getting, the service you get from Motorcycle Superstore makes it worth even more! You get a sweet helmet with a nice bag to keep it in, but also a smoked shield which looks pretty bad ass. It's just dark enough you can't really see into the helmet but you can hardly tell it's tinted when you're wearing it. I ordered my GMAX GM44 helmet on a Friday and it was at my door on Monday. When it comes to purchasing anything to do with motorcycles, this will be my first stop!

I use a mask under my helmet all the time and to be able to lift up the chin bar before putting on the helmet is the best feature. No more fiddling with the mask after putting on the helmet as I had to do with my regular helmets. And also having the option of cruising around the city with the chin bar up. I am able to smile at the ladies and they finally know I am smiling instead of just seeing my eyes as I admire their beauty. Great helmet.

Great fitting helmet. Easy on and off with glasses. It opens easy when it is on my head. Hard to open sometimes if it is not on my head, it binds on the right side, so I just don't close it when I take it off. The face shield has multiple stops so you can open it as far as you want to when you need more air. When you close the face shield it is very quite. Cheek pads are kind of tight but should loosen up with wear, or so I have been told. I have gotten a lot of compliments on the helmet.

quieter but not quiet
I was a bit uncertain getting a medium. Every other helmet I ever owned has been large. But this size chart said medium for me. And it was correct. Very good fit. Riding my Nighthawk 750 behind a plexifaring 3, the quietest helmet I've ever used is the Bell Mag-8 -- actually, the wind noise doesn't exist with it -- so anything else is louder. But the GM44 is much quieter than other full face or flip-up helmets that I've tried. My intended use is winter, so venting is not an issue.

I really like it
For all the features this helmet has, it is really a bargain. I especially like that I can take out the cheek pads which give it a much more comfortable fit. And it comes with both a clear and dark face shield with no tools required to change them. Also, I buy a lot of stuff online and this is the fastest shipping I ever had without paying extra. And I had to return the helmet to get a different size and everything was very easy, and I received the same fast delivery service on my replacement helmet.

I was looking for a low cost modular helmet to go with my new Honda Goldwing, without breaking the bank. I saw this helmet online and asked in one of the forums if anybody new anything about these helmets, since I could not find a retailer in the Dallas/Ft Worth area. One of forum members informed me that he had had a couple of these helmets and liked them for their good fit and low price. So I decided to take a chance, and I am very pleased with the GM44. I was worried about the fit, since I had been told the sizes run larger, but I followed the measurement instructions on the website and I ended up with a perfect fit, medium for me (a large in the Shoei fits me also). Only downside is it seems that there is more wind noise than I would prefer (it is not bad), but this is my first modular helmet and they all may be that way. I had my wife try it on and the same size fits her, so I'll be buying another one from the Superstore real sooon! Great service from the Superstore, helmet arrived quickly and was exactly what I had expected.

A Good Helmet
I haven't fully tested this helmet and hope I never have to, but overall it feels really secure. Venting seems sufficient (for a full face) and it's easy on and off with glasses on. It's comfortable to wear for extended periods. A large fits tight on me so I took recommendations from reviews here and purchased one size larger - the XL fits very well. Overall I am very happy with this purchase.

Gmax 44S for a long oval shape head
Previous reviews didn't address this but it works. I'm not saying that I'm extreme long oval, I'm saying that I was a stunt double for the adult monster in the movie Alien and the medium fits like the size scale says it should. Head size 57.3 cm. May have a couple of pressure points at the front but it's under the Christmas tree so I'm not testing it yet. I chose midpoint for durability because I don't know yet. Disappointed that the flip front does not "click" open but merely stays up due to friction.

Good helmet at a very good price
My previous experience was with a Scorpion exo-400 full face helmet. Build quality of the Scorpion internal liner and neck rolls appears to be a bit better quality than the Gmax, but then again it was pricier. Finish looks great, but I haven't owned it long enough to test scratch resistance. The helmet does feel lighter than the Scorpion and it has great visibility. Considering that it also came with a spare smoke visor, visor bag and helmet bag, it was a really good deal for the price.

GMAX M-44 HELMET
This is the first full face flip-up helmet I have had. I bought it for use in cooler weather. My head measures 23" and I bought a large and it fits perfect. As far as helmets go, I think it is a well made product that should last for years. The helmet is a little noisy, but I really don't have anything to compare it too. The helmet seems to have good adjustable ventilation, doesn't fog up on me but I am not a heavy sweater. The features of the helmet work as they should, I didn't have any problems. The helmet bag, smoke visor, and visor cover that come with this helmet makes it a good deal.

Gmax G44 helmet
I purchased this helmet because I desired a flip face helmet that wouldn't break the bank or look like a neon sign. The initial helmet (large) was too small in the front around the cheeks. My head size is 7 1/4. I was able to wear the helmet it is just snug. I reordered an (XL) and it fits much better. The helmets came with protective bags and a clear face shield which quickly and easily exchanges with the sun visor also provided in its own protective cloth bag. I do like the ear pockets as they allowed plenty of room from my intercom speakers. I am not sure how adequate the ventilation is, I ride in the pacific NW and so heat buildup inside the helmet is not a problem. I do feel this might be an issue in warmer climates, I definitely would buy another one. Note: this helmet is not Snell rated.

I love this helmet. I have an HJC and this one has more visibility and it is quieter. The extra visor was a definite bonus. The open ear pucks leave plenty of room for the earphones I wear for my Ipod. I ordered a small per the sizing and am happy with the fit.

I really wanted this helmet to work for me. I am a bargain shopper by nature and after reading the reviews, I really thought this helmet would work great. When I got the helmet out of the box and tried it on I was pretty excited about the fit and the look. However, after my first ride (to work about 20 miles) I had a killer of a headache. Again on my way home from work another headache. The helmet reminded me of the 1970's football helmet that I used back in Jr. High. The padding inside created pressure points on my head, the worst of which was the back of my head and neck. I believe this is what created my headaches. The helmet was also a little noisier than I like.

Incredible helmet, awesome price
I received my GMax a month ago and am pleased to say that it's the best purchase I've made since I can't remember when. The fit, finish and features are comparable to the more expensive flip-up helmets (Nolan, SHOEI, etc.) that I tried on at a local retailer but couldn't afford (all >$350). This does it all. Ventilation could be a little bit better but the helmet is fairly quiet so I guess it's a trade off. Came with a clear shield and a dark tinted shield at no extra cost. Easy to change shield, no tools required. Buy one now before the word gets out. P.S. buy its one size larger than what you normally wear. I wear an XL but bought an XXL, no problems

I have had the helmet about 2 months and I continue to enjoy using this helmet. Fit is snug at first however after a little use it fits good (accurate size). Very nice finish and I love the features and air vents of the helmet, especially for the price. The modular chin bar is a little hard to open and it sometimes does not open correctly, so I have some concerns as to the durability of this feature over time. Also I loved having the extra smoke tinted shield.

Great Helmet for Melonheads
I wanted a modular helmet, but my big head precluded most of the manufacturers. I ordered the GM44 in 3XL and it fits pretty well, except for some tightness in the cheeks. The cheek pads are removable so I figured I could take them out if it becomes too uncomfortable. I have logged about 800 miles in this helmet and I like it a lot, especially for the price.

Best cheap modular.
This is a great helmet for the price. It has pockets over the ears for headphone/speakers, as well as the things in the description, like a spare tinted shield with a bag and the helmet bag. I have a BIG head size 8+), and the XXXL fits great. The helmet is a little noisy, but if I hunch my shoulders up it quiets down a LOT. I am looking for a way to put something across that thin gap in the back by my neck to shield the wind, maybe that will make it quieter. I have used it in cold and hot, long rides and short, and it works and feels great, a little fogging trouble in the cold, but decent ventilation in the heat. I'd get one again.

I feel this is a good helmet for the price. I am satisfied with it. It is not too heavy, and I have no problems with the workmanship. It came with a clear shield, a tinted shield in a protective fabric bag, and a large protective fabric helmet bag. I can't comment on the wind noise factor because I ride a Goldwing so there is no noise with or without a helmet. Overall - good deal! :-)

The box for this says "The better fitting helmet" which I will 100% agree with. This is a very comfortable helmet for my round type head. Helmet sizing was accurate as per the measurements I went with a L (whereas I've gone XL on other brands) and it fits great. The vents seem to be a little on the cheap side and the front-side chin vents seem like they are just plastic inserts glued in. I would not buy this Gmax again, but I am going to replace it with another Gmax full face as I am 100% happy with the fitment and hope other Gmax fit just as well, just not sold on the gm44's protective capability.

I haven't been able to do a long ride with my new GMax. On the short haul it is quiet. In the upright position the shield wants to work its way down while riding. According to the sizing chart, I needed a med. I order an XL and it is somewhat snug with a doo rag, I guess it is due to the shape of my head. No real complaints and time will tell on the comfort issue. A good helmet for the money and I would purchase another one.

Great value, good ventilation and protection
I have three of these helmets. I bought the wine color this year to more closely match my (red) bike. One of them (a Derk-flat black w/silver accents) I've had it now for three years. Prior to these, I used an HJC CL Max modular. This helmet is less weight. I tried on a Nolan modular this year but it touched my face when closed. Since I ride without a windshield, it would've never worked for me. These G-Max modular’s are an excellent value. The padding in them promotes all-day riding, the weight means less neck fatigue and there are vents all over it. The interior is comfortable and can be removed for cleaning. It's ready inside for your communication gear, MP3 headset, mic, etc.

Great helmet for the money
The G-max GM-44 is an excellent helmet for the money. It opens easy. You can open the visor all the way or click it open just a little for ventilation. The helmet has 3 vents in front and 2 on top for good air flow. Also came with a smoke tinted visor with a cloth storage sleeve and a helmet bag.

A Good Helmet for a Good Price
I've run this helmet through a good selection of weather conditions and I really like it. It's quieter than my Nolan N100. The chin bar is much easier to raise and the shield is much easier to change. It doesn't breathe quite as well as the Nolan; shield fogging is more of an issue, but is easy to deal with the multiple position shields. The shield and helmet bags are very nice touches. I added the quick release buckle as D rings should have been abandoned in the '70s. The fit is very nice and the removable liner makes it much easier to clean the helmet after a hot sticky ride. I worry a little bit about the durability of the plastic latches, so far they are holding up very well. Plenty of room in here to add helmet speakers. Overall, I'm very satisfied with my purchase.

Great fit, lesser noise level than the previous helmet I had which makes the ride more enjoyable. Many vents. Internal cushioning is well placed and sized for snug fit and allows for easy on and off of eye-glasses. Flip open feature very easy to manipulate. Helmet comes with interchangeable clear and tinted visors, and felt bag for storage. Great value for the price. Will buy again.

I purchased my helmet from an individual that bought the wrong size. I love it. Perfect fit, no hot spots and it is very quiet. About a week later I purchased a second one for my wife. She gets claustrophobic in most helmets but is really enjoying the comfort and feel of her GM44. When this one wears out, I will definitely get another one. I am completely satisfied.

I need a 4xL. I had to push the foam in, all over the inside to fit me at the slightest. It hurts but I need a helmet. 4xl is doable, ya'll so do it. I bite my cheeks with it on; sign of a bad fit, my head throbs. But it's all I can get...do something to help me? PLEASE????????????????

Get more that you paid for
This is a great Helmet at a great price. I bought it to replace my HJC flip face, after the thin plastic liner, on the inside of the face guard, cracked and fell out along with the insulation. This GMax Helmet is very solid and well put together. The Helmet is very stable in the wind too; I don't feel my head being smacked around like I did with my last helmet. The padding is a little tight at first, until you break it in, but over all, I am very pleased and I recommend it.

GM44 - A d*&% good piece of equipment
This helmet was an outstanding buy for what I paid. Got a bonus with this - there was an extra smoke shield included. (It was not included in the description when I purchased.) Here in AZ, airflow vents are a must, and this helmet has 'em. Looking back, I should have gone for the matte finish instead of the gloss - but that's my short-sightedness. The full-face flip-up is great since I wear glasses. My only critical comment would be the noise; it's slightly louder than my last helmet, but it's nothing the earplugs can't handle.

This helmet comes with a lot for the price. The fit is right on, it’s very comfortable, and comes with a clear and tinted visor. My only complaint, though minor, is the pads inside remove a little too easily (like falling out when putting on if I hook it with my thumb.) Other than that, definatly worth the money

Great helmet for the price. I bought the Fog City Fog Shield also. I did notice that with all of the vents closed or open and shield down the wind goes into my eyes and dries them out. Not bad with glasses on. I am between a Large and XL. I bought a Large. It squeezes my cheeks a bit but I don't get a headache. Overall the fit is good. Easy on and off and the controls are smooth. There is wind noise but I can add a communication device which is nice.

It is a great budget or second helmet. Good looks. The fit and finish are good however, I don't think that it will age well. Above average wind noise at highway speeds and rather heavy for long rides.

Nice Helmet for the Money
I purchased 2 GMax - GM44 helmets and am pleased with them. Went by the sizing chart and both helmets fit great. The chin room is really good and my checks are not pinched like they are in some full face helmets. The lift up chin makes it very easy to put helmet on and off while wearing glasses. If I would change anything on this helmet it would be to make the top vent a little sturdier - I had one tab come off one of the vents, and to make the first notch for opening the face shield a little smaller to allow it to be opened about an eighth of an inch instead of a half.

Pros; The numerous ventilation holes made in the helmet; The look of the helmet and the ease of which the visor and chin assembly could be raised; The weight; CONS: The fit was not what I expected, I ordered a 3XL and it was still too tight at front of helmet, the chin strap excess fastener was cheaply made of plastic and broke within the first week of use. I would probably not purchase this helmet again. I will stick with my HJC CL Max. Better helmet.

Tremendous Value!
This helmet is one of the best values out there.
Fit: Fits my oval head well (M). The cheek pads are pretty tight at first but they pack out a little after a few days. Better snug than loose. Slight pressure on the crown of my head but that's probably due to the shark fin on the top of my skull. Overall, snug fit without pressure points.
Looks: I really like the flat black, especially with the dark visor.
Visor: Easy to change and rolls up smoothly. Since you get TWO visors (clear and dark), being able to change them out without too much hassle is nice. I've never had a dark visor before and, the more I use it, the more I like it. Not have to wear sunglasses is pretty convenient when you're doing errands around town. Just pull the helmet on or off and you're good to go. And it makes you look like Darth Vader.
Flip-up chin guard: Large button makes it easy to flip up the chin guard. Great for having conversations without taking off the helmet, adjust earphones or sunglasses, and quickly cooling off. Both open and closed positions seem secure.
Noise level: Moderate. No better or worse than my HJC CL-15. I always ride with earplugs or sound-isolating earphones anyhow.
Other: Having cut-outs around the ear is awesome for wearing ear plugs or in-the-ear headphones. No pressure on the ears/phones makes long rides quite comfortable (and quiet). With flip up chin, adjusting ear plugs/phones after putting on helmet is easy.
Safety: I can't comment on this but the helmet seems solid and will hopefully do its job when it needs to - hopefully never!
It would be hard to beat this helmet for features, second visor, and performance.

I like the looks of the helmet. I like the ease the visor and chin release operates. The fit was not as I expected. I ordered a 3XL and it was still too tight. My HJC Modular fits better. The snap on the Chin Strap is CHEAP (Plastic) and broke within about 2 weeks of use. I like the helmets features, all the vents were awesome the price was right. I probably would not purchase this helmet again.

This is my first motorcycle helmet, so I don't have a lot of experience to enable good comparisons. Even so, I love this helmet.
Pluses:
Full-face flip-up
VENTS. Amazing when it's hot outside. I can smell the flowers we ride by.
Comes with both clear and dark smoke visors. I actually bought a smoke colored visor separately, expecting to need it but my helmet came with both(!) so now I have an extra.
Very comfortable, including the chin guard. Strap has snaps to hold up the extra length so it doesn't smack you in the face while riding. Spiffy looking! Mine is silver and super shiny and super awesome looking.
Minus:
Nothing! I have nothing negative to say about this helmet. Better than the HJC my boyfriend owns for nearly half the price, for sure.

Before purchasing I read several reviews on this helmet. A few mentioned it being fairly loud, and I find there is some merit to that. After riding 800 miles with it in the past month, I can say that this is my only criticism, and at that only a very minor one.
The fit is perfect, absolutely perfect. Follow the manufacturer's sizing chart here; I fell almost between medium and large, but just in the medium category. I hate a tight helmet, but bought the medium and it couldn't fit better. The quality of this helmet is very good, and the inclusion of an extra tinted face shield and draw-string bags for it and the helmet speak to that quality. The finish is great; with a deep clear coat over the black. The flip up feature is very handy. I don't think I'd ever go back to a regular full face helmet. Oh, and my wife loves it for that kiss right before I leave!

Had this helmet for a couple weeks and the lock that keeps the face lift up broke. The helmet still fit fine, but the reason I bought it was for the modular flip-up front. While it worked it was a great feature and made wearing glasses with a helmet hassle free. I returned for another Gmax, trusting it was simple part defect.

I really like my G-Max 44 helmet. It fits well, is very comfortable and has great optics. If there is anything I do not like about the helmet is that it's a little noisy at highway speeds.

This helmet is full of features. There are plenty of vents to focus cool air where you want it inside. The visor and flip-up face are easily manipulated, even with bulky gloves on. It's nice and quiet at reasonably high speeds and seems easy to care for. The shields quickly change on and off. I love this helmet which is a great deal for the price.

I liked the fit and the appearance of the helmet. The interchangeable face shields were a big plus. The only drawback that I noticed was the release lever for the face part doesn't release smoothly every time. Noise levels were minimal. There is some problem with shield fogging when stopped resulting in the need to raise the face shield. Over all a nice helmet with a reasonable price and it was shipped to me in a very timely manner.

Good helmet
Very pleased with this helmet. Fits great. Face pads slightly tight, but was able to compress and it now fits perfectly all over. Good ventilation system with a back vent to let air flow and 5 front vents easily closed and opened, including one that helps helmet not fog or remove fog. Face opens nicely and stays closed at speed. Visor rises easily and does not blow off even at moderate speed around town if open. Only one complaint: no tab to open visor on the right hand side, so if I am stopped and don't have the bike in neutral I have to reach across my face to open the visor, or open the entire face. Other than that, this helmet is wonderful. Highly recommended.

NIce Helmet for the Price
The features of the Gmax make it a value for the cost. Since I wear glasses, I really appreciate the flip type helmet and the Gmax makes it easy to put the helmet on and take if off without removing my glasses. The flip is accomplished with one hand with a single button. The shield come in a variety of tints and change shields is fairly easy. My only negative is the strap snap - it is sometime hard to locate the snap and an elastic band is easier to use. This is an easy fix. All in all a very nice helmet

Accidentally ran across a GREAT helmet!!
I love this new GMax helmet. The visor seals nicely, noise is low, mechanism works great, huge field of vision, and the finish is beautiful. Above all, it FITS!!! I have a big head, and the Vega modular helmet I bought last year got worn only twice -- it squeezed my jaws so hard it made me sore for hours afterward. This GMax fits perfectly and doesn't even come close to touching my chin when closed. And don't even get me started on the price! So affordable!! The local Yamaha shop is now selling GMaxes exclusively, but Motorcycle Superstore beat their price by $15.00! Good job, guys!

Since this is my first helmet, I really don't have anything to compare it to, but this is a great looking and feeling helmet. I took a BRC course with this helmet and had a few people ask me about it and where they could buy it. That normally wouldn’t be that big of a deal, but one of the instructors was one of the people asking (that’s a plus as far as I’m concerned). It was cold both days of the course (~35 F both days) and the helmet kept my head warm. I love the chin curtain on it and the smoked face shield that came with it is a definite plus. Great product for the price!

After using this helmet for a couple months now, I have to update my review on it. I have since purchase more expensive flip-up helmets and tried them. They are in the closet now. The flip-up visors and flip-up front helmets on the $250 helmets were not user friendly or reliable. This GM44 helmet is just so comfortable and both the flip-up visor and flip-up front helmet work like a Swiss watch. For the money you can’t beat it even at twice the cost. It’s definitely a keeper.

The GMax GM44 has been making me happier as time goes on. I added speakers to the included pockets in the spaces over your ears, which made it extremely easy, and the fit has gotten better as I wear the helmet. Still a little noisier than I'd prefer, but I've had worse that cost more. Great deal, great features, you should get this helmet.

GM44 Modular Helmet
After using my new helmet for over a month, I am happy to say the thing was worth every penny, especially since it is so much less than any other modular I could find. Not the quietest helmet, but quieter than my last full face, with plenty of ventilation and good looks. Comes with a clear and a dark visor, a visor bag and a helmet bag, lots of space for speakers, easily removed/washed liner, and makes it so easy to keep my glasses on! Has a very minimal liner with lots of open spaces, it is not a skull cap, just a web of a liner, which aids in keeping it cool, and retains less sweat, smell, etc. The latches for the flip up are plastic, but seem to be solid enough, and the detents in the flip up and mask are still very solid, really positive in each position. The flat black finish worried me at first but is showing NO wear at all, no marks, no scratches, it still looks new! Go ahead and pay more for the other helmets if you need the brand name, but this is a good helmet at a great price.

This helmet is a very good buy for the money. It has a great venting system, flip up visor and flip up front. It comes with two visors which is good because they cost $20 otherwise. One clear and one tinted. I have to wear earplugs above 40 mph. The only down side is the helmet is 1.5 inches thick or thicker in places. This makes it a very big helmet! Aerodynamically it’s very stable in the wind even with its large size. I wear a size XL. The sizing chart worked out just fine. It’s a very good fit.

Good helmet GREAT price!
I have only owned the GM44 for a couple of weeks now. It seems to function great. I would say that the fit is probably best for a narrow (narrower than mine) face. After about 4 hrs I have to give my jaw a break. Still a comfortable fit & well vented for these hot Oregon summer days! A little on the loud side but with a MP3 player, problem solved!

This helmet does exactly what it is supposed to. I only use it when I commute because it makes for a more comfortable trip in and back from work, I would not recommend it as a touring helmet or for sport use but for commuting it is perfect.

Great helmet! I've owned helmets for over 40 years and this one is by far the best. Venting is more than adequate and can be adjusted for weather conditions. Price was good, and shipping was very timely. Only fault I can find with the helmet is that it isn't quite as quiet as I'd hoped, but it isn't overly loud. I've owned several full face helmets that were louder. Overall, it's a very good helmet, and I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.

To the contrary of a previous review, my GMAX G44 has the DOT sticker on the back of the helmet and to the best of my knowledge is DOT approved or I wouldn't have bought it. I purchased this helmet less than a year ago. Great air flow. The flip up system works great with one hand and is very convenient - I don't need to take my helmet off as much as others. The shield has come loose and had to be attached. Sometimes I like to ride with the shield up, but it comes down at higher speeds. The
