These are my second set of Givi racks as I have a set on my F650GS Twin. I got these to install on my wife's G650GS and they went on well, however, the instructions are very bland and lacking so I searched the web for a more detailed account of the install.
The product is fine, a bit pricey, but worth it in terms of interchangeability between bikes and the wide range of monokey cases offered by Givi.
Did not fit and was a stinker to try to install. I would have had to cut, then splice the wiring to tail lights to make it work. Waste on 90 minutes when I could of been riding. I even called Motorcycle Super store to verify it would bold on before I bought it. They charged me to ship it back and I had to complain to get that charge refunded. At least they listen to their customers.
I bought this thinking I was getting the aluminum base plate that was shown in the picture and to my surprise I opened the box to find a big black plastic base plate. Then I read how it could install in minutes, ah no it doesn't. The instruction sheet is a joke also. Then you have to modify parts and drill holes with nothing in the instructions on where to put the holes. I've had it over a month and tried to install on one day and after an hour of trying to figure it out i put it back in the box. Hope i figure it out. Not happy
I fitted the Expedition racks to my 2014 model KLR 650, with Pelikan boxes. Brilliant. Fitted easily, with no modifications required, and awesomely strong. I found I could strap the KLR topbox to the same rack without difficulty. I switched bikes to a Suzie VStrom, to which I fitted GIVI Trekker boxes: much more expensive, and they completely disintegrated when I took a fall.
5 Stars for the Moose racks. 0 stars for the GIVI setup.
