Product Information

Firstgear Sierra Rain Jacket

Aside from the obvious visual effect of being seen from 1000 yards away, this gear will keep you bone dry in the worst downpour. Recommended for those of us who do not let the weather dictate whether you ride. Not recommended to be worn over Firstgear Textile Jackets and Overpants, because those products have a waterproof/breathable exterior. So, basically use over Mesh or any other non-waterproof product.
  • Waterproof /Breathable Nylon shell is fully seam sealed
  • Jacket features an under-the-helmet rain hood stuffed into the collar
  • Jacket and Pant articulated fit for riding position
  • Jacket and pant include integrated stuff sack for easy storage
  • Item # 46538
  • SKU #
  • Mfr. Part #

My First Hi-Vis

I got this in X-Lrg. I am 5'3" 200 lbs and short waisted. I normally wear a women's 20W-24W depending on the brand. I wanted to be sure the 2-way zipper closed over my hips. The sleeves were too long, I adapted the bicep cincher by cutting and moving the Velcro to allow all the black underarm to zero. Plus wrist Velcro this jacket fits good enough. I am saving to buy the next 3-4 season WOMEN's jacket (need vents!)I am using for morning commutes to work in pre-dawn and love the color/weight for summer mornings. Tucks away nicely into tank bag. No vents (rain gear, duh) and billows like a parachute when over 40 mph, can't use my mirrors as easily.

Nice Rain Gear

Had a chance to use this jacket on a recent 12 day trip through the eastern US and up into eastern Canada. Although in the 12 days I only had to put it on twice it served me well. The fit is bang on (I ordered a large) it fit perfectly over my size large leather jacket. If I had one complaint (this will vary based on the wind buffets over your wind screen) the water found a way in through the top snap, but you may not experience this.

First Gear Sierra Rain Jacket

Great Jacket! Have only worn 3 times for extended rides but this jacket (and the pants I also bought) kept me dry. I like the way these pack down into their own bag!

First Gear Sierra Rain Jacket

An excellent product. Although a little pricey it did work very well on a recent 3,800 trip to New England. We rode through about 1,700 miles of rain at Interstate speed and it worked as advertised. Mine was also a little too big but certainly not to the point of considering a return. I would recommend it to someone looking for a top-of-the-line product.

FIRSTGEAR SIERRA RAIN JACKET

The sizing was right on for me, my leather jacket is an xl so I ordered an xl in the rain jacket. It fits good just loose enough for arm and shoulder freedom of movement. Not too baggy that it flaps in the wind though.
