BikeMaster Magnetic Steel Oil Drain Plug

It's hard to believe that a little bolt with a magnet can improve the performance and lifespan of your motorcycle. BikeMaster's Magnetic Oil Drain plug will do both.

The powerful magnet pulls metal flakes and shavings from you oil keeping your bikes motor running with minimal friction and wear. From large metal shavings to microscopic metal dust this drain plug will protect your engine from harmful contaminants and abrasives.

Note: You must check to make sure that there is sufficient clearance for magnetic drain plugs. install the plug and slowly turn the engine over by hand, making sure there is no contact with internal engine components.

    Bought this to get some metal out of my tranny from a part failure. Just put it in. Tight fit first time. Took it out a couple times and already grabbed a bunch of metal shavings.

    2008 FZ1- Fit perfectly, no 'big glob of glue' on the end holding the magnet in. Nice black finish, we'll see if it holds up. Same exact length as stock. I'm actually kind of excited to see what it pulls out of the oil at the next interval. Cheap insurance, money well spent!

    Magnetic drain plug

    Unlike other comments, this fit perfectly on my '03 V-Strom. Haven't pulled it out to see how much metal it pulls out, but the magnet is surprisingly strong.

    Shorter than stock

    07 CBR1000RR. It comes coated with a black plastic coating on the bolt, similar to a rebuilt car part. I had to use my tap and dye set to get rid of this, since it wouldn't fit w/the coating. You might be able to force it in the oil pan, but you'll get plastic shavings in your pan (which is obviously bad). You might be able to use a metal-bristled brush on the bolt.

    Tight Fit

    As others have said, its a tight fit, probably caused by the black coating on the bolt head and threads. The magnetic part appears to be attached with an adhesive. If the coating is flaking off or the oil is deteriorating the adhesive I'll throw this out at my next oil change.

    Bought this for my Ninja 250R and felt like it would need to be forced in, unlike the stock plug. Just put the stock plug back in, lesson learned.

    Huge glob of epoxy hanging around tip of magnet. Ordered it for a specific model and it does not fit. It is an M10. Should be an M8. Would use it even if it did fit. Worried about epoxy breaking off and churning around in motor.
