Fox Racing 2017 Motocross Gear

By Katy B.

Fox Racing was born in 1974 when Geoff Fox launched Moto-X Fox, a small distribution company for motocross parts and accessories. Fast forward 42 years and today Fox is the leading brand in motocross apparel. With everything from lifestyle clothing to innovative motocross protective gear, Fox has it all.

For 2017 Fox has taken the feedback from their championship-winning athletes to create the innovative all new gear line up. With an emphasis on performance and durability this all new line up from Fox has promising quality you can trust. Totaling in three segments to complete the gear line Fox has something to offer for every rider.

Fox took all the bulk from traditional style motocross gear and created a minimal feel for the FlexAir racewear. First launching in 2016, the FlexAir was lighter than anything seen before from Fox. Designed to push Ken Rocen’s progressive style to new levels, the FlexAir is built to perform. Now the 2017 styles are offered in head turning new color ways guaranteed to make you stand out at the races.

Hence the name, the FlexAir features laser cut holes in both pants and jersey for plenty of airflow coupled with 4 way stretch Tru-Motion for unrestricted movement. Developed directly with Ryan Dungey, FlexAir moves with the rider. With 4% Lycra blend and TruDri fabric this racewear is designed to stay both comfortable and cool against your skin all day long. To top it all off, a large jersey tips the scales at only 6 ounces and size 34” at only 28 ounces. Don’t let all the comfort fool you, the FlexAir is extremely durable so you can keep racing all year long.

The tried and true Fox 360 line has been around for some time, but that doesn’t mean it is getting any less relevant. Much like today’s high revving 4-stroke engines, the 360 racewear continually evolves to meet the growing demands of the sport. The race capable construction of this high end gear has been proven to perform.

The light weight mesh jersey allows plenty of air flow to keep you cool while you’re putting in hard motos. This jersey will also keep you comfortable and dry with moisture wicking polyester main body fabric. The athletic fit provides superior comfort all day long in the attack position.
The 4-way stretch pants move with you while you’re out on the track. The pants also feature a double layer knee system with a durable inner material and heat resistant leather outer panels.

Whether you're a weekend warrior or devoted racer the Fox 360 gear has something to offer.

Like the Fox 360, the Fox 180 has been around for some time but it is also the bestselling gear in Fox’s lineup, for good reason. The light and simplified construction provides constant comfort whether you are racing or casually riding. The 180 gear from Fox is their entry level gear, it’s all around quality comfortable gear that won’t break the bank.

To enhance performance and comfort Fox uses a moister wicking polyester main body fabric with vented side panels to help you breathe. The pants feature a pre-curved rider attack position construction for a precision fit on the bike. The main body of the pant features a 600D polyester construction for durability. Additionally, the knee panels feature leather to resist heat and wear. The 180 pant from Fox also features stretch panels at the knee, rear and crotch so you can move freely.

No matter if you’re today’s amateur and top professional rider, the 180 racewear is packed with race inspired features that will help you keep charging.

For 2017 Fox made the decision to do away with the V4 and replace it with an all new V3. Worn by Ryan Dungey and Ken Roczen, the all new Fox V3 helmet offers premium level safety, venting and lightness at a more competitive price.

The all new Fox V3 has the highest end protection to offer with MIPS (Multi-Directional Impact Protection System). MIPS effectively protects the wearers head by imitating the brain’s protective fluid, reducing rotational forces on the brain caused by angled blows to the head during a crash. The brain’s own cerebrospinal fluid in combination with MIPS ensures maximum protection.

The shell is made up of a multiple composite technology construction containing carbon fiber, fiberglass, and Kevlar. For a precise fit, the V3 shell has been made into 3 sizes with 4 EPS sizes. The dual density EPS liner features a softer layer closer to your head and a harder layer against the shell for a wider range of protection. Fox uses Dri Lex comfort liner that will keep you cool and dry even in your longest motos. The comfort liner is fully removable and washable but you can also customize the helmet with a variety of cheek pad sizes. The Fox V3 helmet allows you to breathe deep with 14 intake and 4 exhaust vents for optimum airflow.

Exceeds ECE 22.05 and DOT certifications

The Fox V2 helmet offers high level protection at a competitive price. Much like its bigger brother the V3, the V2 features 3 shell sizes and 4 EPS sizes for a precise fit. The shell is made from a fiberglass construction featuring 10 intake and 4 exhaust vents. Inside the helmet, the rider is protected with a dual density EPS liner featuring an softer layer closer to the head and a hard layer right up against the shell. Worn and trusted by many, the V2 is a good choice for riders of all calibers.

Exceeds ECE 22.05 and DOT certifications.

The V1 helmet from Fox is a great all around value helmet, it is one of the best bang for your buck helmets on the market. The shell is constructed from an injection molded polycarbonate featuring 9 intake and 4 exhaust vents. Just like the V3 and V2, the V1 offers a precise fit with 3 shell and 4 EPS sizes.

Exceeds ECE 22.05 and DOT certifications.
