May is Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month, so to promote safer riding we’ve got everything you need to stay protected on two wheels. From head to toe, you’ll find purpose-built gear designed to keep you much safer than casual, non-motorcycle specific apparel. You may have heard the acronym “ATGATT” (All the Gear, All the Time) or the mantra “dress for the crash, not the ride” and both are certainly tried and true. So if you’re in need of a new helmet, boots, gloves, or any other protective riding piece, now’s the perfect time to get it, just as the riding season shifts into gear!
Protecting your body is priority number one, however, you would never dare turn a blind eye to your bike! We shouldn’t have to tell you to keep your bike in working order, but spring time is a good time to make sure your brakes, chain, sprockets, filters, oil, tires and the rest of your motorcycle is ready to go.
HOW TO CHOOSE A MOTOCROSS CHEST PROTECTOR
You protect your head with a helmet, you protect your feet with boots, so why not protect your upper body? If you’ve ever taken a rock off the back of a 450, then you know, roost hurts, but roost isn’t the only reason we wear chest and upper body protection. Unfortunately falls happen, and the same reason you wear other gear is the same reason you should wear a chest protector. Check out our guide on the different types of chest protectors
