Every time I see my son he thanks me for these fine boots. They are the best gift I've even given him he says because of their quality and how they stand behind them. Thanks

    Alpinestars Tech 7 boots, 2013

The Tech 7 boots are pretty good for $300. Buckles work well, fit is spot-on. My only complaint is that they're slick, as in slippery, and when you need to work the brake or the shifter, the exterior boot material sometimes slips against the metal of the pegs. Great boot though.

    The only boot

Well, I just purchased my second pair of Tech 7's, replacing my first pair I bought in 1994! I honestly could keep riding in my original pair, but wanted a new set! If you take care of these boots, they will last a long time. I think I paid $350 in 1994, so for 18 years of riding that is $19.44/year. Not bad for the best boot out there.

They fit good but not worth the money

I originally bought the tech 10s for the ankle support but they hurt my ankles too bad so I sent them back and got these. These offer very little ankle protection, they fit great but not worth the $350 I spent on them. I guess I should have stayed with fox or went with Sidi.

    Good boot for the money

Overall this is a good boot.3 rides on the boot and the sole is coming apart. It rips the boot when your starting the bike from the pegs..Need help in the right boot.Other than that its a great boot.My tech 6 and 8's are holding up better than my new 7..They sure built the boots better a few yrs ago..

    great boots

Love my tech 7s. No real breakin time, fit good out of the box. But like other reviews, they dont wear real well where the right boot scuffs the peg when kicking over the bike. Besides that I love them. Still will replace them with another pair.

Not as good as they used to be

I bought a pair in 2009 which lasted about 2 years and are still in decent shape and another pair in 2011 which fell apart really quickly. Just looking at the old and new pair side-by-side one could tell that the quality is not what it used to be. I suspect that they are trying to get people to buy the higher-end tech8 and 10 boots.

    3.5 Months of Durability

I purchased these boots for a 3.5 month ride in Latin America. The boots really held up well from the first day in AZ to the last day in Buenos Aires. They took a little while to break in and were very comfortable for the entire ride. The only complaint I have was in warmer temps it was a little hot. A really fantastic boot!

    Good Boot for the Price

The fit is a slight larger than the actual size (size 11 fits like an 11 1/2). It takes a couple of rides to break-in and become flexible. Good design, buckles good, comfortable and durable up to this point (10 rides).

So far so good. Mine are waterproof for some reason. There's no water coming in whatsoever. Even in 2ft" of water with riding pants that goes over the boots. I am impressed. They are actually pretty plush and comfortable. I went a size bigger which I really don't regret. I ride casual so a tight fit wasn't important for me. Looking at the boots now, I see that they took on many big hits and I don't recall feeling them.

I purchased these to replace a pair of Tech 8s and have been very impressed. I miss the extra comfort from the booty in the 8s but have really appreciated not having the extra sole poking out all around the boot.

    Tech 7 Alpinestars

Great boot. Had Tech 3s and upgraded. A little painful on the first couple of rides during break in but are good after that. I have a wide foot though so that might be why. I would buy them again. $300 is a big investment for boots.

    Did not last

I purchased the Tech 7’s on the way to a race, no break in needed, 2 hour race and no discomfort at all. 1 race and 2 practice rides later, 1 inch tear on right boot at base of strap and left sole showing significant wear. 10 more rides and sole worn through. Was told by Alpinestars that this is a beginner boot and I ride too hard for them. Alpinestars is going to repair one time under warranty, next time is my cost. A lot of money for 13 rides! Going to try Gearne SG10,s..............we’ll see.

    Comfy but not tough

These boots fit like a glove, after you get them adjusted. Unfortunately after one motocross season they have a big rip on the right boot from kicking the bike over and brushing the foot peg. Love them, just not the durability!!!
