Product Information

Michelin Commander II Cruiser Rear Tire

Addressing the simple desire for a longer lasting tire for year-round cruising, Michelin’s main goal with the Commander II was to make the longest lasting tire on the market. Using a Harley Electra Glide as the benchmark, Michelin has nearly doubled the tire mileage over their main competitors** and is capable of at least 25,000 miles. What that means for you is more money in your wallet, and peace of mind knowing your set of tires can go the distance.

** According to commissioned third-party tests.

While mileage is great, it’s safe to say a comfortable ride is a better ride. Without sacrificing durability for comfort, the Commander takes charge on the road delivering a smooth, plush ride on all ranges of asphalt. New aramid tread plies (which is a fancy term for Kevlar) gives the carcass more rigidity for a stable ride with responsive feedback. Moving to the outside of the tire, the flame-like tread design not only looks great, it does a great job of evacuating water for all season control.

Features:

  • Bias and radial ply available
  • Front sizes range from 80 to 140
  • Rear sizes range from 130 to 240
  • Sidewall have same “custom bike” styling as tread pattern
  • Commander II 90-tread ply is 25% more dense than conventional plies, yet just as light
  • New Silica Rain Technology compounds have excellent wet road grip

Commander II

Only 5000 miles on front tire, 7000 on the rear tire. They suck. Going to get Metzeler today. I check air pressure every time I ride.

Didn't last on my Raider S

I bought a 240/40/18 for my Yamaha Raider because I had a couple of Harley buddies tell me how great this tire is. Both rode to Alaska and back and claimed their tires were still over 1/2 tread. They thought they would get close 20k miles out of them. It did not last 6,000 miles on my Raider. I do not pull hole shots or do burnouts or any of that stuff. I will accelerate hard but mostly ride moderately. Tire did not last, plain and simple. Rode and handled fabulous. No better than any other on treadlife.

Tire is great, shipping terrible

I love this tire but I had to wait so long for it to arrive, I inquired as to why it was taking so long and was ignored, shopping somewhere else for my next tire.

Love em

Put these on an Electra Glide and they were great. Was waiting for my Roadglide tires to wear out and they finally did. Just put these on and love em just as much on the new bike.

Michelin Commander II Rear Tire

Ordered both front and rear so they would be matching set. Great tire fast shipping and I would definitely buy from MS in the future.

Great Tire

I have been running Commander II's for 4 years and just love them. They handle great and exude confidence while riding. Just wish they would make them in a Wide White Wall

Great long lasting tire

I put a set on my Yamaha VStar 650. Put 20,000 miles on it and still had plenty of tread left when I sold the bike. Other "foreign" tires only lasted 10K.

Great Tires for the Harley

The original tire on my Harley (Michelin Scorcher) only lasted 6000 miles. These Commander II tires go 12 - 13000 miles before they need replacing. They also hold corners better. I love 'em!

Excellent tire

These are a great tire but I don't know how anyone could give them a five star for wet traction they tend to slip quit easily on wet roads But knowing this makes it all ok, just be careful.

Great tires

Great tires! I have used these tires for the last 4 years on my Ultra H-D. However, delivery on my last tire order took twice as long to receive...no longer in Medford, OR, now located in Louisville, KT.
