Product Information

Michelin Commander II Cruiser Rear Tire

Addressing the simple desire for a longer lasting tire for year-round cruising, Michelin’s main goal with the Commander II was to make the longest lasting tire on the market. Using a Harley Electra Glide as the benchmark, Michelin has nearly doubled the tire mileage over their main competitors** and is capable of at least 25,000 miles. What that means for you is more money in your wallet, and peace of mind knowing your set of tires can go the distance.

** According to commissioned third-party tests.

While mileage is great, it’s safe to say a comfortable ride is a better ride. Without sacrificing durability for comfort, the Commander takes charge on the road delivering a smooth, plush ride on all ranges of asphalt. New aramid tread plies (which is a fancy term for Kevlar) gives the carcass more rigidity for a stable ride with responsive feedback. Moving to the outside of the tire, the flame-like tread design not only looks great, it does a great job of evacuating water for all season control.

Features:

  • Bias and radial ply available
  • Front sizes range from 80 to 140
  • Rear sizes range from 130 to 240
  • Sidewall have same “custom bike” styling as tread pattern
  • Commander II 90-tread ply is 25% more dense than conventional plies, yet just as light
  • New Silica Rain Technology compounds have excellent wet road grip

Best rear tire yet for my Stratoliner.

Using a Commander II on the back and Avon Cobra on the front since Michelin does not make the size needed for the front. Great combo though. Good tread life but not as quite good as some have stated, on the Strat. Could be my throttle grip.....

Great Tire!

Just put on my second set of Commander II... absolutely love these tires. Got almost 20K of hard, MC riding on them, both around town and long-haul. Never miss a beat... dry, wet, highway... whatever! Only tires I'll put on my Ultra Limited. Forget the marked up HD stock tires...

Great Tires

I just bought my third set of Commander II's for my Harley Dresser. I won't buy another tire. The Commanders are less then the Dunlops and last longer. For the guy who had the Yamaha who only got 10k on the tires, it is the engineering on your bike that is causing the shorten life. I have seen the same thing for Kawasaki's as well. If you have a Harley there isn't another tire that stands up to the Commander's considering everything.

Fabulous Tire

I bought the rear tire first and had it put on and rode it for about 100 miles and it felt so good that I bought the front tire. My bike has not felt that way for a long time. Good stability good cornering that stick to the road. I will continue to buy this tire again. As to tread life I have put on 1500 miles on them and they do not show any ware on them. Thanks Michelin for the making great tire. Thanks to Motorcycle Superstore for great service and shipping for this tire. Chuck C.

WEAR

The tire did not wear like i thought it would. 10000 miles on the tire and wore out . I am 68 years old and ride a Yamaha Road Star, and ride solo 95% of the time.No better than the other tires i have used.

Rear tire

This is my 3rd Michelin C II, one on front which is still going strong, and the second rear. I ran the 1st for 17,000 miles, twice what I usually get with a Dunlop or Avon on my 08 Road King. On the first rear tire, I did find some deep "cut" type of cracks on it when I checked before replacing. these were all around the tire along the outer edges of the tread area. the tire was had a cup and down on the edge, not really cupped as the rubber seemed to be the same depth in both the lower and upper areas. I installed this new tire in hopes the above issues were just a single bad tire. they didn't appear until very late in the tread life so I will monitor this tire and also the front tire which now has about 13,000 miles. I normally get about 20,000 out of a front tire

Awsome tire

I ride a 07 Harley Davidson cvo ultra.Getting ready to order my second Mich.comm.II. I've use Avon, Pirelli, Dunlap, by far the longest lasting tire out of all the others. I've been told I ride my dresser like a crouch rocket. The handling is amazing. This is the best tire for the money.

TBoyd

I cannot attest to tread life on these tires as I have only had them on for about a month and 1,000 miles. As for wet and dry traction, I am very pleased. They are also seem to be very smooth riding tires. Although I am comparing them to a set of worn out Dunlops.
