Cool gloves

I got my pair and they fit just right. It's been a little cold around here but I wore them already a couple of times. This summer I know I will have well ventilated and dry hands. They seem a little more protective than my full thin leather driver gloves but not as much as my regular riding gloves that have protected knuckles and fingers. Yet very comfortable. I like the fact that I don't have to deal with snapping anything on and off. As long as my hands are cool and dry.

This my 4th pair of First Gear gloves. These run very small. My others did not. I would recommend buying from a store rather than ordering online. Too small to complete the review.

OK - no wrist snap, hard to wear!

As venting gloves are very cool, but clearly provides minimal protection (sun, slight abbrasion- better than nothing). My biggest peeve is that it's difficult to put on and off, as you need to slip it on and yank it off (no velcro cuff/button)- a huge design flaw. Otherwise fit my fingers pretty good.

The gloves were definitely not very comfortable. They were a little too snug for XL and when I removed them, the seams left designs on my hands. Maybe a larger size, but the inside seams are still a comfort issue.

Size runs small.

Unfortunately the fit was too small to be comfortable. After 30 minutes of riding I had to take them off. Large is more like a medium so it is difficult for me to give a fair review. I have worn many pairs of Firstgear gloves in the past and the fit was true to the indicated size. The finish and value otherwise seem outstanding and I will be ordering a larger size as I'm very fond of Firstgear mesh gloves in warmer weather.

Size runs very small

I ordered these for comfortable summer riding. The feel and construction seem fine, but the fit is tight. I don't consider my hands that big, but the largest size offered was 2X which is very tight going on and off. Once on, they fit snug with no shorting in the web and no excess in the fingertips. If you have long fingers, these won't fit you. But for my short fingers, they fit OK. PS I'd swear they mismarked the size on these.

good glove but not as good as what they replace

The original Ultra Mesh glove was a lot more comfortable. The interior seams on the new ones make these gloves less comfortable than the originals. Also even though the originals didn't have a cuff, they still had the Velcro closure to make it easier to get them on and off. The elastic is a little too tight on these new ones. Beyond all of that, the mesh is really nice and I'm sure they'll do their job just fine. The price is nice.

Mr

True to fit. Very comfortable. Just what was advertised. Light weight and good for temperatures above 50 degrees F. Below that hands do get a little nippy.

Cuff is too tight.

The gloves are cool enough and the fit is good once I get them on. The problem is they are excessively tight when trying to get my hand through the cuff. I would not buy these again I'm thinking of looking at a different brand.

Firstgear Ultra Mesh Gloves

The perfect hot weather glove but performs okay at temperatures down to 45° F. I rated the durability at 4, but that is just a guess I have only worn them for a few hundred miles of riding so far.

Excellent value

Rode from Cooper city Fl to New Orleans and back 821 miles each way. Temp varied from upper 90's to 68. The gloves performed admirably. Caveat xl gloves were a bit snug. Might go up a Size.

Ultra mesh gloves

Gloves worked very well on some 90+ degree days. Really like the airflow and the soft leather palms. But they are small for their size. I purchased a large, my usual size, and they were a little tight and short in the fingers. Hope they stretch over time. So I'd recommend these gloves, just consider a size bigger than what you usually purchase.

Summer mesh gloves

No armor so they won't protect you in a crash but they do flow a lot of air and keep the hands cool. First Gear makes other gloves that protect better and I'll eventually get some but for now these are just fine and the fit, finish and overall quality is good.
