Joe Rocket Sonic 2.0 Leather Jacket

Hot weather riding can put unique demands on a set of riding gear and when it comes to leather, the solution is often to add perforation that can give the appearance of being riddled with bullet holes. With the Sonic 2.0, Joe Rocket has managed to maintain the seamless leather look with the option of removable underarm panels. When the temperature rises, zip off the panels to reveal breathable FreeAir mesh. When you’re on the motorcycle the public will see tough leather protection, but all you’ll feel is cool air flowing in.

Features:
  • 1.2mm drum dyed cowhide construction
  • Removable underarm/side panels revealing FreeAir mesh ventilation
  • Dual density body armor at the elbows and shoulders
  • Removable spine pad with pocket for optional C.E. spine protector
  • Sculpted high density rib/back padding
  • Removable insulated vest liner
  • 6-point SureFit custom adjustment system (adjustable sleeves, wrists & waist)
  • Full 360° plus 8" zipper for jacket to pant attachment
  • Reflective stripe
  • Item # 404
  • SKU #
  • Mfr. Part #

great jacket

It took me a while to actually commit to buying this jacket. I loved the style, as I am not a Harley type of rider, but I am a very large guy with a belly. I had read reviews about it not fitting if you are a big guy. When it came in it fit around me perfectly. It was a little short but I used to have a jacket that was nice and long. Every time I sat on the bike it would bunch up because of the length, making it uncomfortable to ride in. This jacket is a little short when standing but fits great when sitting on the bike. I am very happy with it and would recommend it to anyone.

good jacket

I've worn the jacket just about every day for the last month. It fits me well- XL. It's good down to 40 degrees and up to 90. So far everything is good.

Great Jacket

I finally found a jacket that fits me (I'm well below average size). The quality is excellent, as is the design and features. The only criticism would be regarding the front zipper; it appears to be good quality, but it would be easier to use if it were just a little larger. That said, I am a very satisfied biker and I would definitely recommend this jacket to anyone.

Great Jacket

Well styled jacket. Great fit- see video for fit instructions. As others mention the zipper tabs could be stronger and bigger but that's something I can customize. Love this jacket and amazing delivery to me in Australia.

6'4" 180-190 lbs

As the title says, I’m 6'4" and ~180-190 lbs. I went through a couple different jackets and brands, nothing fit as well as this jacket, the others would either fit my upper torso and arms great, but would be too short, or the length would be good but upper torso would be too large. The sizing for this jacket has a large option which is great and fits me as it should. I put a 3 for durability because I haven’t had it long enough to really say anything for or against it.

Good Jacket

The jacket fits well and isn't too bad in the heat. A little pricey but functions.

Stitching failure

Jacket fit reasonably well, finish appears to be ok, and the venting is good. However, after only a few rides, one of the pockets had the zipper fabric tear out. I find I am less than confident that the jacket will hold up in the event of a get-off. Zippers are plastic, not metal, and the stitching seems to be weak at best.

High Quality

Very impressed with this Sonic 2 leather jacket and with Joe Rocket stuff in general. I wear a large and ordered a large. Fits like a glove and I can move very well in it. A big belly would most likely make it to tight!

Crash Tested and Approved!

I am 6'0”, 200lbs, muscular build. I have the XL size. It's a little wide in the waist and short in the torso for me. I ride with this jacket in the winter down to single digits comfortably. With the liner and panels removed, it works OK in the summer, though a little bit hot. Highly recommended jacket.

Joe Rocket-Sonic 2.0 Leather Jacket

Love the jacket. It fits true to size. I wear a XL in my textile JR jackets and ordered a XXL, which I had to send back because it was toooo big. Exchanged it for an XL. Great looking jacket with soft leather. It blocks the cold wind also.

This is an awesome jacket. No wonder it's been a top seller for many years, right?. Trust the reviews though, get an XL if you usually wear a L, ect.

Perfect all around jacket

I paired this jacket with the Blaster pants. I recently wore them on a 1200 mile trip up the California coast and over to Reno via Hwy 36. Temperatures varied from 45 at the mountain passes to 95 on the valley floors. This jacket was perfect. I was never uncomfortable due to the versatility of the removable liner AND zip-off side panels. Combine this with the excellent armor and high-quality leather - you've got the perfect jacket. I highly recommend this jacket to any rider.
