My master cylinder had stopped working because after 18 years of use some of the brakefluid had solidified in the master cylinder reservoir inlet and between the master cylinder seals. It took me two attempts to install this kit because I used a brake cleaning fluid that caused the elastomers to swell. This had nothing to do with the quality of the kit. Do not use WD40; instead use a proper brake cleaning fluid that states on the label that the fluid does not attack elastomers. My other recommendations would be to verify that the master cylinder seals are installed with the exact orientation as the original part, and do not insert a screw driver or anything else into the master cylinder that could scar or scrape the master cylinder. After taking proper precautions, I performed the installation correctly, bled the brake line and my brakes now work like new again.
