I'm delighted with my First Gear Hi Viz mesh jacket. The fit was perfect and I ordered my size. On a recent ride, I was comfortable in a Tee shirt with the liner in place at 60 degrees. As the day warmed I simply removed the liner and was comfortable at 90+. Being 'seen' is very important to me.
Just got this jacket and it has a very nice fit and finish, comparable to Firstgear or Tourmaster. This is my first Motocentric purchase. It has back, shoulder and elbow armor. Two exterior zipper pockets and two interior velcro pockets. Zip in rubberized sweatbag rain liner. You'll lose a few pounds of water weight if you wear that for long, so you'll be wet from the inside. No collar, neck is just a round hole. Finish is very nice but I am a little concerned about the main zipper which seems to be of a small gauge variety. These typically fail first so I took a star off for that. Overall I'd say it is promising and a good value for the money.
Who needs a mesh jacket in San Francisco, right? Well, it's actually like 80°+ downtown in the summer. And more humid than I'd like. So far I've been happy with it when sitting at the lights with the sun beating down on me. Now if only they'd make a mesh helmet.
I'm 5'8" and 165# and the medium fits well, but the shoulder armor moves around too much and I'm not sure how it would perform in an accident.
I saw this jacket and I had to have it. The jacket lets air flow well, and keeps you cool even in the hottest of weather as long as you are moving. The leather accents are very stylish. I have got a few compliments on the jacket as well.
